  • @lilrabbit97 you can eat it, and it is sweet. we made a bottle form by taking a beer bottle, cutting it in half (top|bottom) then taping it back together using duct tape. then you make the goo, and pour some into the bottle, dont just put the bottle down though, keep rotating it so the goo distributes evenly. youll probably want to wear oven mitts or something similar because the bottle could get really hot from the goo. the first time we tried it, the beer bottle cracked, so watch out for that.

  • hmm, I've never tried cutting it. I imagine if you cut it like you would cut real glass (score a line then tap it) it would break in a semi controlled manner. Let us know how it works out for you, it sounds cool.

  • @KIBAfang90 Yes you can cut it. You need a match and a knife. Heat the knife and put it on the glass. Essentially, you are melting the cut. You will need to reheat the knife frequently.

  • it is somewhat dangerous, the liquefied sugar is extremely hot and very sticky. If some spills on you, you could get seriously burned. Trust me!

    I live in Holland and I probably can't get to corn syrop and tartar so I was wondering wat it is doing for the reaction?

  • Well the corn syrup is really important. It makes up a big percentage of the plate and is part of what makes it stay together. I don't see how you could do it without it.

    I don't really know what the cream of tartar does. It would probably work without it. Let me know if it works!

  • I have tried it with only sugar and it worked pretty good but it is not see through so that is the difference I think.

    But i don't care because it is just for fun.

  • I mixed everything and everything is boiling in the pot. I let it boil for about 20 minutes. I'm not sure what temp it reached. I forgot to pour the mix for about 30 minutes after I turned off the heat. The plate ended out being crap. It didn't harden. it stayed gooy for the next 2 days.

  • It might. If you let it heat to long it will harden more than it should and it will probably hurt when you hit someone with it. And if you dont heat it enough, not enough of the water will evaporate and it might not solidify all the way.
