@signboyy It doesn't matter if it is organic. That has absolutely nothing to do with it. Organic simply means it is carbon based. For a microwave to heat something, it must have a dipole moment (i.e. be polar). Humans are composed mainly of water which is polar and clothes are not. Thus, the "vaporization" of humans and not their clothes. Cellulose is organic but you can't cook a cotton shirt.

If you are going to pass on information, please educate yourself on the matter at hand.

the microwaves cause the water molecules to vibrate causing them to create heat and to turn into water vapor

As it's for an educational project looks like you did a good job with the music and effects in that regard.... It's actually quite a challenging scene and the film score could have been much better for this part. Missing the tripod sound - still gives me the shivers. That being said - sorry but when the machine started to rise out of the ground that would be all I needed to book on out of there - no matter how futile it might seem. Fight or Flight.... This was one of the dumbest premises of the movie. That a military force would send their vehicles to their enemies land BEFORE their troops. Not only that...that said enemies {aka: us} wouldn't find said vehicles buried beneath our feet. With all the construction, radar mapping, & geographical surveys we've done....we wouldn't have found said ships ? That's where this movie lost it's believability, for me. Not to mention it didn't follow the novel on how the Martians got here.
