  • in ben bridwells own words band of horses is him trying to rip off of neil young. but i love it

  • i LOVE tthis band<3

  • Um, comparing this to Phish? Man, it's hard to read comments on Youtube and not cringe. I guarantee you BOH was listening to The Shins and Built to Spill back in the day, and probably some Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris when they needed a country fix.

  • i love this.

  • This is the kind of anti-climax folkie stuff that is just as easy sounding as it is easy made. It's OK.

  • @MrItsamansworldbaby Go listen to some rap and OD on heroin faggot

  • @LeviCarlton hahahahahaha you made my day.

  • Blue Foundation is another great chill band. They're from Denmark. Great songs. I also can't wait to see Band of Horses with Kings of Leon in concert in August! :D

  • I could bet anything, based on the chorus melody on the guitars and the track's position on the CD that this track was meant as a "The Funeral Pt. 2".

The chorus guitar melody is very similar, and comes just after a short break after "The Funeral". This one's on #6, while "The Funeral" is on #4.

By all means another amazing track by a band which I've yet to find a track of to not like.

  • Replay button Raped

  • @Benzeeh ben...

  • Band of Horses = Best band of the 2000's

  • @AtomHeartGuy I don't know The Strokes and Phoenix had some pretty epic stuff.

  • LOVE!!!!!

  • 1:18 and on, enough said

  • Band of Horses, Fleet Foxes, Grizzly Bear, and Bobby Birdman. That's all you need, really, ever.

  • i never knew a horses can play drums, guitar, bass and do vocals...SICK!

  • chillest song to skate 2

  • You have to skate to this song:D

  • the best music to skate too so chill

  • Excellent song. Thanks for the post.

  • @TheHollowNick

    Japandroids.

They're two Canadian bros that do everything by themselves. They have cheap instruments and rough distortion, but that adds to the effect. Simple yet beautiful lyrics coupled with the chilled distortion of the instruments never fails to leave someone mesmerized in a trance-like state

  • gorgeous

  • Try listening to 'Armoured Bear'

  • anyone know any more chill bands like this? comment me if you do

    -nick

  • @TheHollowNick eh you might wanna try looking at really indie bands or some jam music like The Grateful Dead or Phish...not to many artists are like this though

  • @PHISHjohnsonPHISH No fucking way. Screw those bands. Listen to This Town Needs Guns, The Avett Brothers, Iron and Wine, City and Colour, and I know there's more I'm just to tired to think of some right now. Anyway, with some good research you can find some really good mellow music.

  • @PHISHjohnsonPHISH check out the fleet foxes if you havent already and bon iver, early manchester orchestra too

  • @violence436 justin vernon went to my school, and my brother is in the music video thats coming out soon, im so excited! :) i love bon iver, if you cant tell...

  • @PHISHjohnsonPHISH How is Grateful dead anything like BOH?

  • @PHISHjohnsonPHISH love how you threw Buck 65 in there! Nice Bands too dude, def some of my all time faves.

  • Minus the bear

  • oh, and shawn mcdonald.

  • If you like this band you will probably like My Morning Jacket or Explosions in the Sky.

  • @TheHollowNick fleet foxes.

  • @TheHollowNick Interpol and No Age are sorta like this

  • @TheHollowNick hey you should look up some OLD king of leon songs. their voice is like "tortured soul" kinda. try "i want you" or "arizona" or "true love way" or "frontier city". amazingly chill songs. if u like their newer style then i say "sex on fire" let me know what you think.

  • @TheHollowNick

try mississippi man and eels...and if you want to get bluegrassy go for Hackensaw Boys

  • @TheHollowNick i would suggest the ardcade fire they sound alot like band of horses

  • @TheHollowNick Fleet Foxes and Grizzly Bear are pretty chill too, not exactly the same sound, but similar. They are two of my current favorites.

  • @TheHollowNick

    Japandroids.

  • @TheHollowNick Maybe some modest mouse?

  • @TheHollowNick

We were quite inspirered by early Band of Horses when we did our first EP. Check the tune "Old Friends" on this profile page.

    Best wishes, Rufus Spencer

  • @TheHollowNick

Check out The Avett Brothers, especially the album Emotionalism. Good southern style, and can be very chill.

Radiohead is good too, just a little more depressing. haha

  • @TheHollowNick - Pandora radio Band of Horses, it will change your life.

  • @TheHollowNick Try Lydia

  • @TheHollowNick If you like this check out a band called my morning jacket.

  • @TheHollowNick check out the shins, the naked and famous, and broken bells.

same singer in shins as in broken bells. but specifiy check out the song the high road by broken bells. amazing song!

  • @TheHollowNick The Shins have a similar sound to Band of Horses. Not necessarily to this song, but overall the sound and style is similar

  • @loopdiloop89 i think the shins just give you the same mood that band of horses does. not that they sound sooo similar. just same feelings you get with either band, but i think shins can be more depressing hahaha

  • @TheHollowNick The Flaming Lips sounds almost exactly like the singer. The music is kinda like Coldplay's or Cigar Ross.

  • @lizzygimmemore Its actually spelled Sigur Ros LOL

But yeah... I think I love them because they have a great sound like coldplay.... which is like.... my mothership.

  • @TheHollowNick Phosphorescent, start with wolfes, its most friendly to new listeners :P

  • @TheHollowNick Sea Wolf or Sigur Ros perhaps?

  • @TheHollowNick "Moving Mountains" is a chill band haha.

  • @TheHollowNick

    Grand Archives

  • @TheHollowNick ......The Shins are very similar in my opinion and THEY ROCK!

  • @TheHollowNick Dude, for sure. Look up Decemberists, Death Cab, Blind Pilot, Mumford & Sons, Noah & the Whale, Guster, and Fleet Foxes

  • @TheHollowNick Try Grizzly Bear, The Strokes, The Shins, Passion Pit, Dirty Projectors, MGMT, and The White Stripes.

  • @TheHollowNick You should check out Pinback if you like this band.

  • @TheHollowNick

    grizzly bear

  • @TheHollowNick

check out modest mouse theyre hella sick

  • @TheHollowNick

If you go to the music genome project and type in a bands name it will put that band at the center and tons of bands floating around it, the closer they are the more similar they are.

But if you like this try:

Math and physics club, the shins, death cab for cutie, Faded Paper Figure, Peter Bjorn and John, Explosions in the sky (i recommend them), Ratatat, Minus the Bear, The Appleseed Cast, and my favorite Belle and Sebastion

  • @TheHollowNick Check out Freelance Whales, they've got a similar feel to them.

  • @TheHollowNick the pixies broski, and pretty much every other band mentioned below lol

  • @TheHollowNick There are plenty of bands chill like this just got search for them, you would probably like Local Natives, The Dodos, OAR, or Explosions in the Sky if ur a fan of Band of Horses. Also go on Pandora and make a station for Band of Horses and alot of good bands will come up

  • @TheHollowNick rumour said fire?

They are more pop-folk-ish, but still good.

  • @TheHollowNick Mother Mother all the way my friend :)

  • Fleet Foxes, The Bravery, Stellarstarr

  • Comment removed

  • @TheHollowNick Death Cab for Cutie! My fave band, super indie rock. Start with their album Plans, that's the best one for new fans :)

  • @TheHollowNick I like these ones although they are not the exact same sounds: Bon Iver, The Antlers, Postal Service, Frou Frou. Try some of those =)

  • @TheHollowNick Check out Blind Pilot

  • @TheHollowNick Minus the bear has a few chill ones but theyr really more math rock, theres also pretty much any folk band, fleet foxes in particular, idk who else im really not big on the while "indie scene" lol
