Um, comparing this to Phish? Man, it's hard to read comments on Youtube and not cringe. I guarantee you BOH was listening to The Shins and Built to Spill back in the day, and probably some Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris when they needed a country fix.
Blue Foundation is another great chill band. They're from Denmark. Great songs. I also can't wait to see Band of Horses with Kings of Leon in concert in August! :D
They're two Canadian bros that do everything by themselves. They have cheap instruments and rough distortion, but that adds to the effect. Simple yet beautiful lyrics coupled with the chilled distortion of the instruments never fails to leave someone mesmerized in a trance-like state
@TheHollowNick eh you might wanna try looking at really indie bands or some jam music like The Grateful Dead or Phish...not to many artists are like this though
@PHISHjohnsonPHISH No fucking way. Screw those bands. Listen to This Town Needs Guns, The Avett Brothers, Iron and Wine, City and Colour, and I know there's more I'm just to tired to think of some right now. Anyway, with some good research you can find some really good mellow music.
@violence436 justin vernon went to my school, and my brother is in the music video thats coming out soon, im so excited! :) i love bon iver, if you cant tell...
@TheHollowNick hey you should look up some OLD king of leon songs. their voice is like "tortured soul" kinda. try "i want you" or "arizona" or "true love way" or "frontier city". amazingly chill songs. if u like their newer style then i say "sex on fire" let me know what you think.
@TheHollowNick Try My morning jacket, Ween, Interpol, Arcade fire, Ben folds 5, Buck65, Beck, ***Monsters of folk, Modest mouse, Wilco, M. Ward, Bright eyes, Elliot Smith, Mason Jennings, Pixies and the brian jonestown massacre, Just to name a few. ;)
another great suggestion would be the andrew jackson jihad, clap your hands say yeah, fujiya and miagi, martin sexton, mumford and sons, the black keys, the decemberists(not a lot like this and a lil more upbeat but they have some GREAT songs and some of the best lyrical writing i've ever heard), dispatch, state radio, Of A Revolution....i'm gonna leave it at that.
@TheHollowNick bro,ben howard is super chill, winter gloves, ko, folkahontas (might have to look for a while) there yuh go champ also try grizzly bear!!!
@loopdiloop89 i think the shins just give you the same mood that band of horses does. not that they sound sooo similar. just same feelings you get with either band, but i think shins can be more depressing hahaha
If you go to the music genome project and type in a bands name it will put that band at the center and tons of bands floating around it, the closer they are the more similar they are.
But if you like this try:
Math and physics club, the shins, death cab for cutie, Faded Paper Figure, Peter Bjorn and John, Explosions in the sky (i recommend them), Ratatat, Minus the Bear, The Appleseed Cast, and my favorite Belle and Sebastion
@TheHollowNick There are plenty of bands chill like this just got search for them, you would probably like Local Natives, The Dodos, OAR, or Explosions in the Sky if ur a fan of Band of Horses. Also go on Pandora and make a station for Band of Horses and alot of good bands will come up
@TheHollowNick Minus the bear has a few chill ones but theyr really more math rock, theres also pretty much any folk band, fleet foxes in particular, idk who else im really not big on the while "indie scene" lol

I could bet anything, based on the chorus melody on the guitars and the track's position on the CD that this track was meant as a "The Funeral Pt. 2".
The chorus guitar melody is very similar, and comes just after a short break after "The Funeral". This one's on #6, while "The Funeral" is on #4.
By all means another amazing track by a band which I've yet to find a track of to not like.
