  • do most computers come with a video capture card?

  • i have a laptop how can i install it?

  • PS: Its Called Torrents ;)

  • Thanks for letting me put my Home movies on my computer!

  • Does it work with an Hauppauge HD PVR?

  • @iBenjaa did you find a answer i was wondering about that

  • Hi guys

The website I just went. coverts all VHS tapes onto DVD for only 4.95

  • some vhs tapes have a protection how do yo bypass those?

  • can u put the vhs on ur laptop? and do i need to put a video caper card in my laptop or does it have it already?

  • sweet video thanks it helped a lot!!

  • I got some work to do!! I got a whole wall of VHS!!!!!

  • Rescue your videotapes from MAGIX can also be very usefull and their software is pretty simple to operate. ;)

  • CAN YOU USE EASYCAP?

  • CAN YOU USE EASYCAP

  • If it was me, since you arent getting an upgrade in picture quality from VHS and most DVD players can play em (I havent found a DVD player that cant yet), I'd make them into VCDs, they are cheaper to make, and generally have the same quality as VHS.

  • thank you very much

    too helpful

  • Hey, I got a question. Would I loose quality using video capturing, or recording from VHS to DVD player? If so, whats the best way to get all the quality from VHS onto the PC or DVD?

    Thanks!

  • why don't you use Windows Media Center for recording VHS?

  • is a video capture card and video capture adapter the same thing

  • I hate video tape!

  • hey, ive always wanted to upload video to youtube (from a camera of course) and ive got an old tape camera (Not the huge tapes like the one in the beggining of the video, but the smaller ones) how would i do that??

  • Does Media Portal allow me to capture S-Video or RCA (yellow cable) connections?

  • You fail to mention that you have to have some kind of adapter to get the sound ... why no info on that?

  • Nomaly, you don't need a soundcard.

  • Well I'm not getting any sound and the only thing I can think of is because the audio from the VCR isn't hooked up ... I don't see how you can get sound if that isn't hooked up to the computer ... From what I gather that is standard procedure.

  • @spirittoo Coaxial Cable = Video AND Sound, fool.

  • @WinVistaUser2 you are a day late and a dollar short ... I figured it out months ago ... and for those that don't know you have to have a special cable ... two rca plugs that will fit in the back of the VCR and two mini plugs that will fit in the back of your sound card. You can't get sound without it ... so thanks for nothing chump ...

  • The surplus computers link (in your description) gives an Error 404 message.

  • Will this work for commercial vhs? If not, what do I need to buy?

  • yeah they work the same way

  • thank you!!!! i gotta admit your pretty good with computers.go look at some of my videos and see what you think

  • Woooo!! VHS Forever! Fuck Digital Shit :D Lets Go Back To The 1980's!

  • Fuck VHS, Betamax is the future!

  • @TheTerminatorT101 i luv you

  • @TheTerminatorT101 but i wasnt born till '95

  • can I use an Easycap?

  • man i cant wait to convert all my old vhs tapes of shows i recorded off tv to dvd one day. one thing i hate about vhs tapes like half way through the recording all the sounds goes away from the vhs tape. it's like it's on mute or something.

  • umm what if my vcr broke -.-

  • help i cant find a cheap capture card, they are all like 60 bucks with software ...so which ones are around 20 bucks????

thats all i need but i cant find a cheap one

  • You can also use a Dazzle like i do.

  • Any idea how to convert super 8 films to DVD? Used old technology some years back and would love to be able to store and secure old films. Many thanks

  • Thanks.... Great Video. I have been looking for a cheap conversion process!

  • would Windows Media Center work for recording???

  • hey...

I'm not very good wid computers...

Sad but i didn't even get how to convert it...

not to say ur video wasn't good it's just the part where you are installing a piece inside...I didn't get....I would appreciate it if you could expalin it or show it more closely how to install it...

    THNX

  • Instead of DVD flick you could use Windows DVD maker if you have vista

  • what if i have a laptop??

  • too bad

  • usb

  • ???

  • I reccommend you buy a usb Tv capture card.

  • HEY COOL

  • This video is pretty helpful and concise, except for one thing--the quality of the capture will be much better if you use the composite video (yellow RCA jack) and line audio out (red and white RCA jacks) from the VCR to the composite video/line audio in on the capture card (if the card has such), rather than using the coax (RF) connection from the VCR.

Pardon my pedantic nitpicking, I thought I'd just give this a mention. Otherwise, this video is pretty informative.

  • I hate installing components in computers. Not because of anything but I have a laptop. I might use this in the future though so thanks

  • lol id do it but my vcr dont work

  • I CANT FIND ANY FOR UNDER $30

  • I use this capture card/FM tuner...

    Sabrent SBT-TVFM PCI Capture Card

    $19.96 @ Tiger Direct

If you want the card without the tuner it's about $3 cheaper...and it works great.

  • @fart6000 Check Amazon.com!

  • @fart6000 Look at Tiger Direct. They have ones for 29.99 BUT if you don't mind shipping. But since your comment is 2 years old, then you probably have one now.

  • What about those VHS's that are protected for copy?

Can I make the conversion anyway?

  • There is no protection like that. There is only one protection for avoid overwrite some important video on your VHS. But here, you just have to play the VHS and record in the same time with the software

  • Yes you just cant sell em, if you put it on youtube (depending if its coyrighted or not) it will get removed and if you are a re-offender you will get banned

  • very well, thank you!

  • I'm having a problem with transfering my HI8 movies from my camcorder to the pc after I bought a PCI TV TUNER CARD, the images are transfered but no sound at all using the s/video cable and connecting a small cable from tv tuner audio out to input of sound card, please help!!!

  • could you possibly record a live tv show or movie???

  • yes

  • You can also use a DV camcorder. Plug your VCR into it (using AV to RCA cord), attach the firewire output (from camera) to your PC and capture the VHS video using a DV capture program (e.g. Windows Movie Maker), and transfer the captured video to DVD using either the DVDflick or DeVeDe+image burner.

  • i have a problem with my PC from genuine Microsoft and when i enter in my account it got reslove now or resolve later.pls tell me how 2 clean this prob pls send me aMSG ty anyway

  • Cool I have been wanting to know how to do this for years. O_O

  • Yes! Now I can watch the whole Fushigi Yuugi all complete seasons! I will tell my dad to convert our VHs to DVD! Finally!

    Thank u glgafide!

  • with just a cable plugged on,does it also pick up volume or do we need to connect any rca etc? thanks for all the great videos.helps all the way out

  • Excellent presentation. Flowed well and explains the how and what, and where to get it. Awesome.

  • thanks man!

  • no problem

  • awesome as hell

  • i love dvd flick

  • easyer way-

    1. get a recording dvd player

    2. plug your VHS and DVD player into the tv

    3. put your recording DVD player record from the channel that your VHS broadcasts on.

    4. Stop when finished.

  • some people dont have a dvd player capable of recording. this is cheaper.

  • Yes, that's true but you know the old ppl, they dont understand computers(I'm myself an 1337 computer geek)

  • I used to do this via the video camera method a long time ago but this is interesting.

  • you get more funnier every video you make

    keep up the good work

  • NOoo it took me forever to figure this out and now someone explains it. What a waste of time lol

  • I actually did it for free though.

  • Question....Why not just buy a DVD recorder and record it straight from the TV while you play the VHS tape?

  • TDIZZEL629, you have a point there but i think this is a bit better because you normally have to start recording before the VHS player starts to get the full thing.

  • cost of a TV card - $20. Cost of a DVD recorder $100. that's why.

  • But you can use DVD recorder to record videos from TV then without the need to set up PC and pray that something doesn't crash. With DVD recorder you just insert the DVD and press Record button.

  • @gigafide Hey so a "video capture card" is the same thing as a "tv tuner card"?

We get lots of Chinese made tv tuner cards in my country for between the equivalent of US$5 to US$8. After I'm done converting all my home-video tapes, I see no further use of the card. Should I go for one of these cards? My VCR is a an old Sony SLV-X500 that we stopped using 8 years ago, but believe it or not, it still works like a charm!

  • @TDIZZEL629 thats a good idea

  • @TDIZZEL629 this is more fun

  • i rlly like the new way u film o btw ur voice sound totally different on mic then with the camera

  • hey like how much ram in a computer do u need to this?? i have like 512 lol

  • That video was cute. It&TBPSQUOs nice to see these kinds of videos once in a while. Lol

  • hehe i have the same video card as you ^^. I found it a lil buggy with the catalyst software but its great for analog captures. I found using media portal didn't work properly with my 650 tv wounder on the xp system. Nice video though keep it up :)

  • yeah...i had the same issue w/ media portal as well. actually, neither one of them worked.

  • i owe you one big favor. thanks =)

  • I should have seen this video last year before I paid an expert a overpriced sum of money to do it. Thanks for making this video.

  • Ive just purchased MAGIX - Rescue your videotapes to do this, if this fails, ill try your option :)

    Thanks

  • great video! What setting should i use on my tv card capture to get the best effect? Thanks!

  • Thanks dude! I know of a few people who hoard VHS tapes and need to get rid of them.

  • new presentation impressive

  • ...and your download could be possibly ladened with all manner of virii.

  • you can do that menu with nero 7

  • lol i totally agree!

  • nice! thanks for the tip!
