Helium dissipates quickly as we can tell from the relatively short distance it traveled. Keeping it inflated and tethered at all times would be costly, so it must have only been inflated with intended use. This sounds exactly the opposite of the story i read in the newspaper; it said that parents were very legitimately worried the whole time and it was very unlikely that they did this intentionally. It's ridiculous that people accuse them of plotting this; why would they want negative publicity to begin with? Just because they conduct science experiements doesn't mean they should have their kids taken away from them, DUH.
