Parakeet Mating Dance

i want to know when my parakeets will mate. i dont know the age :(

I have a single male parakeet, and I looked up parakeet mating calls jokingly to see how my bird would react to seeing it. Lol, he literally leaped onto the iPad when I showed him this :D

and the cere is exactly the same color as urs D: so is mine a girl too?

@topshattu Actually, feeding is part of affection and affection is part of courtship. The head-bobbing and the beak clacking is courtship.

i have 3 females & 1 male!!!!! lol.....one of the females is the males mate :D and they do this ALOT i think they gunna mate! but the female doesnt like it! my birds act the EXACT same wway urs do

Wait...i thought that parakeets are suppose to have at least 2 females and 1 male too mate??i read the book and asked some bird people about it and that's what they said..anyways ive had my birds for 3 years ~N~ they havent even mated or have any babies yet:( ive bought all the supllies the need already but they still wont have babies

@MARYLEEGORGEOUS 3 years sounds long enough . . . My birdies have lived together for over a year and they still don't produce any little one. Davey has the desire to mate every single day but Shela refuses him. She never let him get on top of her so they never mate successfully.

lol they would not make eggs because thats not mating .mating is went a male parkeet go over the fermale and do its stuff.

@mattfishman123 Just because you have two it doesn't mean they will mate. Some pairs are compatable, some aren't. A purple and pink cere (nose) can mean anything. It sounds like you have juvies, as if you have an adult pair, the female will have a beige/brown "nose" (Dark brown and crusty when in breeding condition) and the male a dark blue cere. Yours might not even be a m/f pair. It can take weeks to months for an unbonded pair to finally mate.
