Ok u got me hooked ...i gotta try this now. I have ordered a drop spindle and some roving. If I enjoy it as much as it looks fun I might have to get a spinning wheel. You probably have it posted somewhere but how did you get started in this. I just learned to knit watching youtube tutorials and got seriously addicted :) I loooove it...not real good at it but persistent! I can do a pretty mean hat now and a simple shawl.
@DianaLouisiana Awesome! A really great spindle can be found at Spindle Craft (.com). They are hand made from found wood. No trees are ever cut down to make them. She sent me one that was made from a freshly fallen tree, one that fell in a storm. These are eco-friendly with low carbon foot-printing. They are gorgeous, easy to use, & inexpensive to boot!! She has a link to her etsy site halfway down the page.
you just answered my question so so perfectly~!!!! you are wonderful, very ammmmmmusing!!! so much better than most of the silly, serious folks out there. keep it up!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
here i am again - thanks to you spinnig got so much easier and faster :) I do can spin from a batt, but the roving is just genial and a lot faster...as I got so mch material laying around it is a real time saver :)))
I have learned SO MUCH from all your videos. i just got my first drum carder today and am working on cleaning my 2nd fleece. And what i learned from you is all a part of what I am doing.
Are you on Facebook or Ravelry. Would love to chat with you some time.
@sewwhatsports Okay wow, these comments are from 2 years ago. Youtube kidnapped them & has only now decided to tell me I have these comments awaiting approval. Wow. Thanks youtube....
Well, I can see everyone else got here first to tell you how awesome your vids and you yourself are! wonderful.
I wondered how that was done! Thanks for showing the obvious, which of course I never thought of, in spite of all that grey matter crammed into my head!
I am so frustrated. I simply cannot spin batts. Rovings are great! But when I try batts, while drafting I get this "pile up" of fiber... Could you do a vid on spinning with batts? BlnodeChicken did, but she likes the chunkiness... HELP!!
Huh?! Have you followed the directions in this very video to make your batt INTO a roving for spinning? Of course you can't spin batts...no one can unless they have an industrial sized spinning wheel...and even then...I dunno...
I am a new spinner and your videos are keeping me going. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! I hope you are a teacher making money. You are a born teacher.
I'm going to dye my first roving. Have to decide what color. Love you and you tube.
I love your tutorials, but please stop calling yourself a dork. You are not a dork. You are passionate about fiber, and that is what makes you so COOL.
I just love your tutorials! YOU R AWESOME! This is one of my fave tutorials by you. Have you used spindles? I am going to start with spindles, and then I might buy a Schacht Ladybug.
I think you are a very talented young lady. Thanks so much for sharing your expertise. If I win the lottery I'll be sending lots of buckage for your production.
Thanks so much for all the postive feedback! If anyone is unaware, I am doing a fundraiser to raise the funds to replace a RAM chip in my puter that is crappin out, making it impossible to edit video to upload to youtube. I have two more waiting to be edited! You can find my fundraiser page at rexenne. chipin. com/ new-1gig-ram-chip (take out spaces). I appriciate every little bit that helps! Thanks for your consideration and support!!
Love love LOVE your videos! You are a blast to watch and SOOOO informative as well! Thank you for putting yourself out there for the rest of us to learn. It is GREATLY appreciated and valued :-)
hey you should teach this stuff, you're videos are very lively, unless you already teach this stuff... then what i just said was pointless... and um then keep on teaching!
LMAO!! Actually there is a plethera of teachers who teach this stuff for a fee...
I'd like to think that I fill the gap for those unable to dish out premo money for these "classes". Our ancestors did not charge for sharing the craft and I don't see putting a price on knowledge to be gained as a very positive thing. :)
Rexenne, I'm a beginning spinner and only recently saw your videos, but boy did I learn a lot, and your video made it all more interesting. I'm sure my family is wondering why I'm chuckling as I pull on wool. I'll be watching for more. thanks Alice
can you make a video that explains weights/grades of yarn? i'm so confused... what the heck is fingerling? worsted? how do i know what i'm spinning? i would really appreciate that, if you can help.
LMAO! I am here to entertain and to educate!! Learning is so much more fun (and sticks better) when there is something fun about the learning process!!
@titaborges411 Never tried, but I can't imagine it would make very good yarn. Try it & let me know!

@foxibren Yes you can but it would have to be much-much smaller. Pencil roving is sold for knitting. :)
