That being said, and, pipe organ experts, correct me if I'm wrong, I believe there is a short delay between the depression the key, and the audience (and the choir) hearing the sound.
But that is the organist's problem. Once he or she gets going, synchronization is all on the conductor and the ears of the choir.
They should have figured that out.
I do find the timing problem disconcerting, but loved the beauty of the performance nonetheless.
I find it amazing how people feel the need to adjudicate the choral performances on Youtube. Sit back and enjoy all of the wonderful music and humaness... Bravo for singing for me here in my living room in Wisconsin, USA. I enjoyed your performance so much...
Isn't everyone an expert when it comes to choral singing. None of you realise that the choir is not singing in their natural language. Hard point #1. John Rutter arrangements are difficult to deal with at the best of times. Point #2. The surroundings are "natural" - people there which distracts from what is being done. Point #3. When you put it all together this ensemble has done a very good job. Excellent. Point #4. Don't be critical of things you know nothing about.
If I didn't know the words to this song, I would have NOOOOO idea what was being sung... I'm disappointed at the poor diction. And the blend... or lack of... And timing?? Wow...
First of all, the sound is drop-dead gorgeous.

Wish the organist kept better time. It's hard when he has his back to the director. Good job though!

you need a lot of work on timing, diction, and you must listen to each other, the organ, and watch the conductor.

The organist has extraordinarily good taste in his choice of registration to use in accompanying this work!

Watch pitch of "Beauty". Diction needs to be clearer. Pitch needs work, try to open mouths a little more. Mens voices sound lovely. Overall good job.

The organ and choir seemed to struggle to stay together in parts . But still very good.

I'll assume the acoustics in the room are the reason we ear so consonants in this video. The over all balance of the choir is wonderful though.
If anyone can tell me what manufacture of organ that is that's accompanying the choir, I'd love to know. I'm guessing its a Klais, but I could be off.
