privettricker...This is one of the coolest songs ever recorded. I'm trying to get it down, but I'm not quite getting some of these techniques you're doing. If you upload a lesson for this showing in detail the notes and chords your playing, you will earn a plenary indulgence and go straight to heaven upon your demise!
You play the riff on the 9th and 7th frets? Should it not played on the 7th and 5th? Not criticising, i'm just asking because my friend thought me on the 5th and 7th, is he wrong? Please respond!
@wellergilardino9 Play this the way I'm playing it and then play it the way your friend plays it, then decide for yourself which sounds correct. ( Hint: Yes, your friend is wrong. :) )
Fantastic. If only I could work out what notes you are playing exactly, maybe one day I could play it too :) Anyone know of a slowed down lesson or a tab of this?
Nice job. the best live Stones album. I've been listening to this and playing it on guitar for many long, long years and always thought the part your playing before the solos was Mick Taylor. the little sus4 thing at the end of the verse riff should have tipped me off.
@ping261054 Although it may not sound like it through all the videos, I only have one amp: Marshall AVT 50H half-stack. I don't use pedals very often, never a distortion pedal.
@privettricker Did you play loud like gigging or is this more kind of living room level? Once more: Your sound is great and very close to the original. Thanks.
Could you do a slowed down lesson please... I am stuck on the louder chord you play... looks like a power chord style but can't quite seem to hit it correctly... the rest is fine (strangely enough!!) Thanks in advance!!
@Badboyandyw That's an A. It's At the 9th fret, you cover the D/G/B with your ring finger, then hammer on the D string at the 11th and the B string at the 10th. After you've hammered those on, you pull them back off after two quick strums.
nice job, i saw the stones for the first time in 69 ,when this version was first played, you have this down dead nuts, enjoyed playing along with you, you are also correct when saying who played what.
Thank you so much! I love the Get Yer Ya Ya's Out version of this song and I've been looking for ages to find out how to play it. I'm going to have to work very hard to get anywhere near your standard of playing.
Would you be kind enough to do a short lesson or breakdown of this part of the song. You did a great job explaining the solo which was much appreciated. At times its hard to see exactly what strings your hitting. Thanks for all the work you've put up on your site.
@mcca7400 Because Mick T is playing the first position E/D/A chords. Listen to the tone of the two guitars, and it's easy to tell which is Keith and which is Mick T. Beyond that, this part stops when Keith starts playing the first solo, so Mick T is obviously playing the other part. Even beyond that, this is not at all the kind of riffing that Mick T would ever do.
@early70sRiff Mick T was more of a chord guy, whereas Keith kept most of the cool riffs for himself. There are a few exceptions like Bitch, but Mick T mostly held down the main chords.
@shmutzydawg Yes, I know MT played most of the solos. I meant he held down straight rhythm and then played the solos, whereas Keith was doing a lot of fills around MT's chording.
Hey man, that's it!!!!! I tried to play this version, but I can't play this in original, played this by ear and tuned the guitar open D minor ( because hammering on is easier) and capo 2nd fret. Your version is absolut exactly playing, very very good, love your channel.
Thanks. That is what I kinda thought, but wasn't 100% sure. Thanks! Keep up the great work. (Just put all your Stones stuff on my Ipod! (And Funk #49.) Any chance Getting Walk Away by The James Gang up one of these days?
@jimbronie Actually, his rhythm part is much simpler than Keith's. It's just first position chords: E, D, and A. He plays a B (probably barred up at the 7th fret) on "Pleased to meet you..."
love this version...was wondering if u were familiar with how to play "you cant always get what u want" the way keef plays it live (like from ladies and gent. or brussles concert. i like the different hammer ons and stuff he does, but not sure how he plays them....if u could do a demo or mini lesson, itd be much appreciated
What amplifier do you use???? what less paul it is

@privettricker and keith is also alot more repetitive than taylor, and just slightly a little more sloppier, but dont get me wrong, keiths amazing

For some reason I am also drawn to play B, A, E progression also in this song. Probably because they are the 5ths and match up note wise.
