I had one under my armpit. I just tied a tight knot around the base and after a couple days it turns completely black and i could notice it getting loose and i felt no pain so i just pinched it off.

I had skin tags removed today by cutting method without novacane and it did hurt. Next time I'm going with novacane method, albeit the rise of cost.

@AmericanPowerBase Obviously you are not aware of what a tumor is. A tumor is the abnormal growth of cells anywhere on the body. A skin tag is the abnormal growth of skin cells. Tumors can be either malignant or benign. A skin tag is therefore the benign growth of skin cells.

@ohsnapitbejenna LOL... I know what you mean... I had 4 on my neck area and tied them for a week and it only seemed to make them swell and hurt.... I convinced the Mrs to take to the little bastards with some sterilized scissors....... GONE!! Make sure your scissors are sharp bud.

Mine was big as the tip of a small pinky finger. I tied a few knots around it, and every couple of days I tied more knots with sewing thread. Finally after the third time it cut the circulation off completely and it fell off 2 days later(7 days total). It was Gross. But it healed nice and no blood was involved. I didn't get it by the roots though, so it might grow back.

Apply an ice cube over the skin tag for a couple minutes to numb it, then quickly cut it off. Finally, apply peroxide to stop the bleeding.

I'll put it to you this way...Only do this if you are not squimish about blood--how ironic skin tags are dead skin yet retain blood. And, have a friend--whose not squimish about blood--to help.

You can use Novocaine...Oral Jel (am I saying that right?) works best.

Otherwise, pay up to $300 in "cosmetic" surgery.
