OMG... i love this, Rock 103 in Memphis used to play this back in the 80's when i was in high school, I'm glad i found it... thanks to the ones who posted this...
I was rollin' 'em hot! Now everybody knows, Queen Bee never close!
This is crazy funny and crazy racist, in a Chapelle sort of way. Sometimes ya gotta laugh at our differences to appreciate one another. Respect, all. So good!
I was driving for some major rock bands in the 80's & we were told the Rev.Willy G was responsible for these.we only had the first two spots but we played those at intermission throughout the mid-west-south concert stops. Still funny as can be.
It ain't no stereotypin... It just plain funny. I laugh at blacks whites yellows reds browns and everything, yall lighten up, yall thinskinned idiots.......
@Cap285 they played it alot back in the 80's! I always thought that it was Garry himself, but turns out it was some dude out of TX!! Either way hilarious stuff...but oh so bad :)
@mattykay I never knew who it was...only that it was funny shit and it was introduced by Cliff to introduce Tyrones traffice report. Weird how it came all the way from Texas is right. We still act it out at work.
@mattykay What were the audio ads for the gay theater that Steve & Garry played on their show? You had to dial into their phone message system to hear it...
thats billy gibbons,i heard a phone interview with billy & harley david talkin about these commercials, billy said he went to queen bee at lunch time when he was a dj for a country station, billy said he was the only honky in the room.
Read the info posted up top. It WAS a DJ named Harley David. I have a radio interview with him talking to Billy Gibbons on how he made them and the real Queen Bee place in Corsicana TX.
Steve and Garry used to play them but so did DJs across the country once this tape started circulating. That;s how it was done before the ye old internet.
Yes..listen closely...it's Steve Dahl & Gerry Meier from WLS am 89 radio in Chicago doing these bits. I remember them doing these back in the early 1980s.
I was writing beer commercials at D'Arcy Advertising/St. Louis in the 80s when these spots got passed around and they were a huge hit among all us ad folk. We all heard it was Billy Gibbons at the time, too. Great to hear them again! Thanks, Mike!
Just tremendous! Great to hear these in great quality after so many years of muffled high generation cassettes. Looking forward to your Part 2, Braindead!
THIS IS THE FUNNIEST SHIT I'VE EVER HEARD!!!!! I heard this for the 1st time in about '86 or '87 on 97.9 WLUP in Chicago. I was 17 years old and I laughed so hard I cried. I'm 38 now and I still qoute lines from it !!! Braindead3XL...YOU ARE THE MAN. Thank you for the entertainment. If you get a chance search Moo n Oink on the web, you'll understand why I'm so enetertained by this being from Chicago. Thanks again!!!
Why thank you theididotbox. I had my daughters listen to this with me, my oldest thought it was 1 of the funniest things she ever heard. Comedy for all ages. Are you a Chicago native ? If not, you have to check out a store on the web called Moo -n- Oink. It's our version of Queen Bee as a supermarket.
Sir,it's a pleasure to meet you, you are a true Chicagoan!!! Not too many people remember BJ and The Gigglesnort Hotel, Saturday and Sunday morning wrestling on Channel 26 or was it 44 ? Victory Auto Wreckers with the hippie wearing that giant ass wrist watch. They still only pay $40 for your used car...LMAO : ) And lest we forget Moo n Oink...fo some baby, baby, baby, back ribs!!! 5 pound bucket of chitterlings for $3.99, hours of laughs!!!! 3 a.m. White Castle sliders anyone?
Yes, Ben's Auto and Dick the Bruiser. Sunday mornings on ........... was it WGN or WFLD ? Remember Family Classics with your host Frazier Thomas ( also from Garfield Goose and Bozo's Circus) ? Before the movie started he would always say And now, if your ready, let us begin.
