I swear watch very closley at 3:00 to 3:01 in the wave u can c a grey figure fly right by kinda of look like a shark but its really hard to see and i may be wrong.... Thumbs up so others can see
u must read this. once u have started there is no turning back. a little 10 year old girl was raped and murderded in 1945. her body was not found until 1947. then a boy last week read this and did not copy and paste this message. the dead girl appeared in his room haunting him and killed him if you do not copy and paste this onto 10 vidoes in 30 minutes the dead girl will apear in your room tonight and haunt you and kill you.
@MrMcnuggets5 he was thrown into the rocks and nobody could help him as waves continued to beat down on him...that's why when you go out when the waves are like you should really know what your doing i say this to everybody as they say in Hawaii if in doubt don't go out
that's complete bullshit. you just read that on some shitty "pOsT uR sURf sPot" site. the lifeguards there do a great job considering the dangerousness of the spot.
@BeyondTheGates87 dude i live 5 minutes away. when you go out you gotta rely on the other guys that are out there. ofcourse on big days like this they got a few lifegaurds. but still.
I have lots of respect for the guy who charge the wedge. But the wedge doesn't even come close to how gnarly the shorebreak at wiamea gets. Look up island fever if you dont believe me. Wiamea gets way way heavier
hoylsht that looks like som much fun but scary at the same time I used to live at a house 100 meters form the sea, I miss those times with huge waves, I almost drowned once, was rescued by lifeguard i was so scared lol I was 13 and i went alone with my friends i was terrified they would call my parents lol
@PullinDeep808 a south or south west.. it gets so big because when the water is pulling back out it forms a wave going out off of the rocks and it just happends the wave coming in peaks with the wave going out and it just gets jacked
@PullinDeep808 The logic explanation is that the bottom of the sea becames sudenly too swallow. So all the mass of water coming in is force to go up (builds up) and that creates the waves.
In the deep as I saw in this video waves are lot smaller as are in every beach worldwide.
Anyway is a hard life to the lifeguards. They have to keep their minds cntinually to every individual. Hpefully they work in a team and thats very very good.
people shouldnt go in and help the life guards unless they ask for it, especially in those waves cuz if 4 guys go in to try to help a life guard those four might need help after a huge wave comes down + they dont have fins
Why were people out? Because the waves were finally epic at the wedge. That's why I was out. One of the best days of my life. Also give the lifeguards a break. Everyone who paddled out knew the risks and if they didn't then they should of.
No, I was on the sand. Probably had the same angle. Those were definitely big waves that day, it was fun watching everyone both in the water and on the sand.
hey great vid the quality was awesome i was there thursday through sunday. it just doesnt do it justice u wouldnt imagine how big there on when ur on the sand. the people that go out have the biggest fuckin balls on the planet i salute them if only i could have there nuts
Not sure they knew at the time. It actually happened before the lifeguards were on duty. There were so many people there you'd think we were watching a professional surf contest.
you'd think the lifeguards would have learned their lesson from the day before and been there early?! there were 3 guards working the day before and only 1 went in the water to try and save the guy on that Friday. Absolutely rediculous!
Not true. Three guards went into the water after him. One was washed onto the top of jetty; he was injured and finished out the rest of the swell. Unfortunately, the man went under a wave and had a multiple wave hold down.
Actually no...you are a fucking dipshit. Don't talk like you know what you're talking about. Wes Parks, Matt Blackford, and Danny (don't know his last name) were the guards. Wes' direct words were "i'm not putting my life in danger for him" as he sat and watched...Blackford got swept into the jetty because he was too stoned to know any better. Danny was the only one to go out along with my good friend Sean Starky, a Wedge Crew bodysurfer.
Had lifeguard headquarters planned accordingly, this would have been easily prevented. Explain to me why the fuck you would have an 18 year old kid guarding a place he has no knowledge of on a day that the swell was predicted to be 20+ feet?? The lifeguards blew it bigtime this swell. Hats off to Sean Starky for doing what he did. Put much more of an effort out there than anyone. They should have the Wedge guys guarding that place on the big days.
I know Sean. I am the one that gave him the O2 when he made it back in. He knows me, I am no one special but you can ask him who I am. The third guard was off the boat. I won't talk about this anymore. When I run into you in the water we can have an open conversation but I like my job and this is way too public.
You have no problem calling the guards out. Who are you? And you got one of the names wrong. More importantly, Sean did a great job. I thanked him then and again now. The help was and always is appreciated by those in the know. I can answer one question for you. In this politically correct era, a computer does the scheduling.
NO, I don't have a problem calling the guards out. They BLEW it. I know the computer does the scheduling. When I say the guards should have "planned accordingly", I mean they should have said screw the damn computer scheduling and put their best guys down there. Simple as that. I'm starting to realize the Newport guards know they blew it and are trying to cover it up so that there aren't any lawsuits from the death that occured because there easily could be.
I don't care if you know Sean. You can ask him what he thinks about how things went down that day. He'll say the same damn thing I'm saying. Some of my best friends are guards and even they say they fucked up. You can try and defend your guys all you want but I saw it all go down first hand and know that things need to be changed within your program so that shit like that doesn't happen again. REDICULOUS
You also need to understand that I appreciate and support those in the lifeguard program that deserve it. I don't feel the guards working that particular day (I named them) were qualified and this is my source of frustration.
Ok. Hope to see you in the water so I can actually talk about it. Wish I knew who you are though. You seem pretty pissed. And yeah, I am posting somewhat anonymously because I am a guard who was on duty after the incident that day. I am a guard that is qualified. I think I just figured out who you are.
dont worry about it USO or whatever you are you are certified, let that kook vent, i guarded in florida so ill be training for USO now that i live out here, so screw that guy and we will continue to be water guardians
whoa now little man...you need to do a little study up on your legal knowledge before you comment on things of this nature. we live in the US. anything is possible when it comes to lawsuits.
no...bad rumor. i've heard that someone sued in the early 90's and won though. ever wonder why there isn't a bathroom facility down there?? the city doesn't want people down there...it's too much risk for them

@PullinDeep808 Ones that only come every 30 years or so

@PullinDeep808 The logic explanation is that the bottom of the sea becames sudenly too swallow. So all the mass of water coming in is force to go up (builds up) and that creates the waves.
In the deep as I saw in this video waves are lot smaller as are in every beach worldwide.
Anyway is a hard life to the lifeguards. They have to keep their minds cntinually to every individual. Hpefully they work in a team and thats very very good.
