I am not even African, but it does not matter in the end.
Watching people like Salim should inspire us to do what we can to make the world better. And thanks to K`naan, besides I am his fan, for letting us know about what is cut in the music and the movies!
Afrika is in the state it is in because of its colonized past. Corruption is rampant and condone by politicians of the world. Globalization is making afrika wealthy, so afrika has the capital to feeds it citizens, but the political figures have to cleanse the corruption in their country.
Mashallah...may Allah grant K'Naan the patience and strength to keep on representing the real...coming from Nairobi Kenya and living in the Uk now...i thank God for seeing this documentary cause it reminded me of my essence..my mother..the struggles i had to go through living in eastlands nairobi...Thank you K'Naan for reppin the real purpose of HipHop.
at 8:09 ... wow that was so unexpected. she was a real character as well. they probably depended on her ... probably the only medical persona in the whole community. if God wills, and I get my medicine degree, I promise to go serve those who need it. My heart goes out to you guys. I wish I could do something.... anything.
i wanna be a singer sortof nervous bout it but if i do i never been to africa but id spend over 10k on helping africa :) and id travel there now and then and put money into fixing it now and then for clinixs etc. :P xD
You are the nx big thing after Michael Jackson, your music speaks with heart and soul.May God almighty protect you wherever you go..Insya Allah...From Singapore to Africa...Praise be to God
I wish that there would be more artist that would use the power they have to do good like K'naan does. Everyday we see death and war, we see bad and poor, but K'naan showed us with this that there's hope if everyone just did a little bit more ! Thanks for sharing and for being so good and generous
just seeing this makes me want to cry...i was born in gambia in a very rich neighborhood i was ignorant of all the suffering and injstice in africa i live in the states and ders so much indifference.. we all have to get up and do something to insure justice in africa =]
Thank you for sharing!
