  • Furthermore, to say that you used compression displays the mark of an amateur. One of the problems with this album to begin was that they used to much compression and limiting in an attempt to fix and hide the overloaded tracks. There can't ever be the type of dynamics and clarity you can hear evident on an album like say Counterparts. Loading a song into a program like Protools or Sonar and then adding some virtual effects is NOT remastering.

  • How is this a "remaster?" You just took an already bad track and killed the little bit of dynamics and frequency range that it had left.

I love Rush, but Vapor Trails is beyond repair. The raw tracks were recorded to hot and clipped the DI. Even the official remasters had to compromise the volume of some tracks to make room for one they attempted to clarify. There is just simply no room left to create clarity as it has all been crushed by an overloaded master output.

  • Rush...endlessly rocking!

  • @analogkidt4e True. Even with their upcoming album, the songs already sound like they're going to be excellent!
