  • Bob is a genius. He really is. Awesome version.

  • That was great, thanks!

  • :)....

  • 17 fucking seconds...

  • My Favorites In Order:

    1. Pornography

    2. Faith (Plus Singles)

    3. Seventeen Seconds

    4. Three Imaginary Boys/Boys Don't Cry

    5. Japanese Whispers (All Singles)

I'm more partial to their earlier darkwave/post-punk stuff than their pop stuff.

  • charlote somtimes was roberts fav song but sales flopped so he then released lets goto bed to prove to the music industry that he can deliver comercial ``pop' but i'm 46 iprefer the old stuff !! robert smith is without doubt one of the most gifted modest artists of our generation!!

  • robert i love you

  • the cure were great thru "head on the door".. "kiss me.." was good.. "disintegration" ok.. "wish" good.. then a bunch of poo.

    seventeen seconds is tops.

  • Early 80ties Cure are my favorite. 17 seconds, pornography and the top were very different and unique.

  • This is what 'punk' was all about...Wire, The Cure, Joy Division, the Bunnymen, Banshees, PIL, etc. Fantastic music that moved/moves forward. The Cure were more punk than most punk bands!

  • WOW... where did this video come from. Thanks to whoever dug this up and put it on for us all to enjoy.

  • I love Rob's voice

  • missing part of song .....but thanks for post

  • stuff like this should be made available as a pay as you go download

  • Seventeen Seconds, Faith, Pornography are my fav Cure album, they should have make a fouth album with gloomy dreamy songs like "Lament", "Charlotte Sometimes" and "Ariel"

  • Wow how I miss this video??, thanks for posted, I love it :D

  • disintegration is no1 album for me.. better than mellon collie from smashing pumpkins

  • Robert Smith.

Sorry, but he's the best musician of his kind ever.

  • 1. Disintegration

    2. Wish

    3. Pornography

    4. Faith

    5. Seventeen Seconds

    :D

  • why does it cut to i catch your eyes in the dark in the first verse.then back to i wish i was yours

  • REMEMBER ME THE WAY I USED TO BE

  • I got a tattoo and it says: REMEMBER ME THE WAY I USED TO BE.

  • This is just classic. ;)

  • i remember this show, the herald did a nice story on the show, my sister still has her ticket stub

  • i frickin love this song. seventeen seconds is one of my fav Cure albums ever! :D (besides Disintegration) <3

  • 1. kiss me kiss me kiss me

    2. seventeen seconds

    3. disintegration

    4. faith

    5. the top

  • 1. Disintegration

    2. Wish

    3. Pornography

    4. Bloodflowers

    5. The Head on the Door

  • HAPPY 50TH BIRTHDAY ROBERT!

    you are god

  • The 'Dark Trilogy' is the real 'The Cure', it's so special and creative.

This performance is great and I really like this song.

But I like it a bit better recorded, as there the singing is just quiet and mysterious 'in the back'. I like that 'mysteriousness' they had on the albums Seventeen Seconds, Faith and Pornography.

  • exactly, i think the vocals are a little to far up in the mix of the song and not quite as airy and faded

  • "The Cure" =

    17 Seconds

    Faith

    Pornography

  • The Dark Trilogy was a marketing campaign.

  • Strangers, nobody know's we love!

  • Can anyone even attempt to count the number of bands that have come and gone while this group has been making music? This song has to be one of the most overlooked pieces in their collection of work. Good music trancends generations.

  • You are absolutely right!

  • that guy's a freak

  • Let me think about it....

    ...

    NO!

  • I'd rather be a reak and be different, then be normal and like everyone else. So what if someone's a freak? It doesn't mean they're not talented and contribute to society in a meaningful way.

  • heard ya the first time. :\

  • Robert Smith's voice is orgasmic!

  • please someone can say me the notes in the keyboard?

  • C minor---

  • 1)Pornography

    2)Disintigration

    3)Seventeen Seconds

    4)The Head on the Door

  • I agree Warlock, there is one little glitch in this version other than that it is better than album version for u can understand what Rob is saying for the lyrics are awesome

  • Secrets, shared with another girl.

Talking all night in a room.

    All night, everything's slowing down.

I catch your eyes in the dark.

    I wish I was yours...

    Strangers, nobody knows we love.

I catch your eyes in the dark.

    One look, relives a memory.

Remember me the way I used to be...

I prefer this version of the song to the album version as the lyrics are too quiet on the album version.

  • It's actually "share", not "shared". "Shared" would make it past tense, and slightly lame. You've got to be in the present moment for good music.

  • one of my favourites curesongs ever. love absolutely the video. seventeen seconds is way too far, my favourite album

  • Remember me the way I used to be !

  • 1)Disintegration

    2)The head on the door

    3)Faith

  • 1 17 Seconds

    2 Three Imaginary Boys

    3 Pornography

    4 Faith

5---Anything after is not really the cure, Even Robert Smith didnt want to keep the name after 1982, Sorry 4 everyone else out there

  • What's there to be personally sorry for? It's not your band or decision right? Don't be sorry.

  • awesome song, awesome sound

  • The Cure is just awesome! I love this song.

  • fuckin great video ! this sound...amazing !

  • you guys are all missing it. just take a listen. Its a very early version of primary. go with it.

  • O GOD UR RIGHT!!!!

    i just noticed that !!!

    wow

  • Excuse me? I think you're mistaking this with Cold Colours, which is one of the first versions of Primary, also recorded for a peel session. But this is Secrets: same lyrics, same chords.

  • Hey no nothing like primary---I am a a muso of 15 years believe me it is not similar except that simon gallup plays bass...

check out my website which has cure covers on it---i play guitar, bass synth etc.

  • the smith, gallup, tolhurst lineup rocked!all other members were just fillins.those 3 can never be dupilacated.

  • My three personal fave albums are the first three : 3 Imaginary Boys ; 17 Seconds ; and Faith . But I own them all with the exception of Mood Swings - which I had and tried to dig but couldn't so promptly sold it as I thought it was crapola , and the newest album .

  • the Smith,Gallup,Tolhurst lineup, just rocked.all the other members are just fillins.those three can never be duplicated.they kicked ass!

  • The best albums of the cure in order are:

    The head on the door

    Disintegration

    Seventeen seconds

the worst albums of the cure are wild moon swings and the cure.

The boriest albums of the cure are pornography and the cure

  • Wow...such an objective opinion. Who the fuck cares what you think?

  • pornography seventeen second faith the head on the door

  • 1 Disintegration

    2 Pornography

3 The Head On The Door

    4 Seventeen Seconds

    5 Faith

  • 1 pornography

    2 3 imaginary boys

    3 17 seconds

    4 faith

.....the rest is from another band. Do you understand?

  • well except simon and robert

but the rest are still fkn different

mainly the last ones were big let downs

  • 1. pornography

    2. faith

    3. seventeen seconds

    4. three imaginary boys

  • close

    1 Seventeen Seconds

    2 Three Imaginary Boys

    3 Pornography

    4 Faith

  • Para mi los mejores discos de the cure son:

    1.- Disintegration

    2.- Pornography

    3.- Faith

    4.- Seventeen Seconds

5.- Kiss Me, Kiss Me, Kiss Me

Tb me gusta head on the doors y wish pero en menor medida.

  • Great like that

  • why doesn't anybody put Wild Mood Swings in their top five Cure albums list? 1)it's got more tracks than The Top & is just as diverse and different 2)it's better than Bloodflowers 3)it's happier 4)Simon Gallup's on it 5)"Jupiter Crash" is on it 6)it feels deeper than The Head On The Door 7).........

  • Because Wild Mood Swings is in fact like the name of a song of that album.

    "This is lie"

  • Because is the most pop directed work of an alternative rock band, however, it´s a great cd, but the songs aren´t remarkable. But when you think about wild mood swings its too different than waht cure has done (The top too isn´t very good rated.

  • we think wild mood swings is a really good album, too! we haven't listened to all of their albums yet, but so far it's one of our favorites.

  • grandissima versione di secrets,veramente unica!stupendo video

  • this is brilliant. Cure at their best, Seventeen seconds is #1

  • seventeen seconds

    primary

    disintegration

  • Qué pinche rolota¡¡

  • where exactly does this video come from?

  • I heard this video was made by some MIT students. This club was part of Boston University. It's long long gone. Mission of Burma was the opening act.

  • the cure, FOREVER

  • nice phase effects on the guitar , huh?

  • one of the best bands of the whole universe

  • One of my favorite cure songs. Thank you for this video...

  • Fascinating vintage stuff from a once great band.

After 1989 , with their Album disintegration all went wrong!!!

  • post punk

  • what a fucking tune love it!

  • Undeniable the best Cure song ever! The voice is the same after many years. Very rare and vintage....always better with time. The Cure is definitely the best Alternative Group still around. Thanks for posting this video!

  • every Cure song is the best Cure song ever. That's the best part.

  • Reminds me of my teenage years...oh so many years ago

  • never overlooked

  • thank you soooooooooooooooooooooooooo much friend........

  • Where did this video come from? Who filmed it? When was it edited?

  • do you know where can i get the whole gig on video?¿

  • voy a ver este domingo 21 de Octubre a este que es el grupo que mas me gusta, los vi en Monterrey el dia 16 de Junio de 1992 y se me va a hacer verlos despues de 15 años.

The Cure Rules the 80s.One of the Cure best songs.

  • yeah i remember him...luv ths song, the whole album seems 2 get overlooked n its arguably my fav.

  • doesnt anyone remember matthew hartley

  • I DON'T THINK SO

  • matthew hartley was the cure's keyboardist for this particular album....

  • i know, he was cool i guess, but no one remembers him now

  • the cure is probably the best band of the last 39 years

  • that's for sure, the best band ever!!

  • Oh yes!

  • Beautiful.

  • i haven't heard this in soooooo looooong. thank-you

  • This is a rare video. Thanks for uploading this video, missluvcat. '17 Seconds' is my favourite album by The Cure. Tonight, just a few hours ago, my friend and I played this song- 'Secrets' and recorded on video. My friend played the guitar and I played the bass and sang.

  • i Love this song.and yes it is very rare.

  • So lonely

  • reminds me of my years in school

    so sad and long

Im glad im not old phew then I'd have to shoot myself If i heard this

  • just reading the comments below. plastic surg? this video was shot 27 YRS AGO--he was only 21 then. now he's almost 50. duh.

  • how did they perform the keyboard parts as a trio '81-82?

  • They didn't play Secrets in 81-82. On Play For Today, M, Seventeen Seconds and In Your House, there were no keyboards. For At Night and A Forest, Simon played the neccesary keyboard parts.

  • seventeen seconds rifa!!!

  • PERFECTION

  • i love this song (L)

  • You retard, he never got plastic surgery, 1) hes not wearing make up (this was before he adopted his "look") and 2) he got old, what are you gonna do?

    I love this song....

  • he looks much better back then before he had all that plastic surgery

  • No way he's had plastic surgery. He's just older and fluffier.

  • what fuking plastic surgery? are you crazy?

  • You're retarded.

  • Aargh! I love "Secret", but there's a glitch in the audio at about 45 seconds with an obvious splice (although the video doesn't jump). I'm assuming it's a flaw in the source -- I just hate that it had to happen on such a rarely performed song. Oh well, it's still nice to hear this one.

  • Can't get no better

  • This song "Secrets" and "Play for Today",i tink are the Cure best songs , I saw this guys in Monterrey Mexico in June 16 1992, great memories to me.

  • top song!

  • "terrible" in french means "great" or "wondeful"...

  • no it doesn't.

  • yes it does... in modern language it's a very common usage.

  • It's actually a much stronger superlative than just great or wonderful. "Génial" ou "c'est top" would be great or wonderful. "Terrible!" is more than awesome.

  • terrible? are you insane? this is a classic cure song

  • i hate the saying 'back in the day' but as punk had hit its peak in the uk alternative bands like the cure were the future.and they've stood the test ....great

  • terrible? how?

  • terrible!!!!

  • Ur terrible.

  • okaaaay

  • great as always. alternative lyrics.
