charlote somtimes was roberts fav song but sales flopped so he then released lets goto bed to prove to the music industry that he can deliver comercial ``pop' but i'm 46 iprefer the old stuff !! robert smith is without doubt one of the most gifted modest artists of our generation!!
This is what 'punk' was all about...Wire, The Cure, Joy Division, the Bunnymen, Banshees, PIL, etc. Fantastic music that moved/moves forward. The Cure were more punk than most punk bands!
Seventeen Seconds, Faith, Pornography are my fav Cure album, they should have make a fouth album with gloomy dreamy songs like "Lament", "Charlotte Sometimes" and "Ariel"
The 'Dark Trilogy' is the real 'The Cure', it's so special and creative.
This performance is great and I really like this song.
But I like it a bit better recorded, as there the singing is just quiet and mysterious 'in the back'. I like that 'mysteriousness' they had on the albums Seventeen Seconds, Faith and Pornography.
Can anyone even attempt to count the number of bands that have come and gone while this group has been making music? This song has to be one of the most overlooked pieces in their collection of work. Good music trancends generations.
I'd rather be a reak and be different, then be normal and like everyone else. So what if someone's a freak? It doesn't mean they're not talented and contribute to society in a meaningful way.
I agree Warlock, there is one little glitch in this version other than that it is better than album version for u can understand what Rob is saying for the lyrics are awesome
Excuse me? I think you're mistaking this with Cold Colours, which is one of the first versions of Primary, also recorded for a peel session. But this is Secrets: same lyrics, same chords.
My three personal fave albums are the first three : 3 Imaginary Boys ; 17 Seconds ; and Faith . But I own them all with the exception of Mood Swings - which I had and tried to dig but couldn't so promptly sold it as I thought it was crapola , and the newest album .
why doesn't anybody put Wild Mood Swings in their top five Cure albums list? 1)it's got more tracks than The Top & is just as diverse and different 2)it's better than Bloodflowers 3)it's happier 4)Simon Gallup's on it 5)"Jupiter Crash" is on it 6)it feels deeper than The Head On The Door 7).........
Because is the most pop directed work of an alternative rock band, however, it´s a great cd, but the songs aren´t remarkable. But when you think about wild mood swings its too different than waht cure has done (The top too isn´t very good rated.
I heard this video was made by some MIT students. This club was part of Boston University. It's long long gone. Mission of Burma was the opening act.
Undeniable the best Cure song ever! The voice is the same after many years. Very rare and vintage....always better with time. The Cure is definitely the best Alternative Group still around. Thanks for posting this video!
voy a ver este domingo 21 de Octubre a este que es el grupo que mas me gusta, los vi en Monterrey el dia 16 de Junio de 1992 y se me va a hacer verlos despues de 15 años.
The Cure Rules the 80s.One of the Cure best songs.
This is a rare video. Thanks for uploading this video, missluvcat. '17 Seconds' is my favourite album by The Cure. Tonight, just a few hours ago, my friend and I played this song- 'Secrets' and recorded on video. My friend played the guitar and I played the bass and sang.
They didn't play Secrets in 81-82. On Play For Today, M, Seventeen Seconds and In Your House, there were no keyboards. For At Night and A Forest, Simon played the neccesary keyboard parts.
You retard, he never got plastic surgery, 1) hes not wearing make up (this was before he adopted his "look") and 2) he got old, what are you gonna do?
Aargh! I love "Secret", but there's a glitch in the audio at about 45 seconds with an obvious splice (although the video doesn't jump). I'm assuming it's a flaw in the source -- I just hate that it had to happen on such a rarely performed song. Oh well, it's still nice to hear this one.
It's actually a much stronger superlative than just great or wonderful. "Génial" ou "c'est top" would be great or wonderful. "Terrible!" is more than awesome.
i hate the saying 'back in the day' but as punk had hit its peak in the uk alternative bands like the cure were the future.and they've stood the test ....great

Secrets, shared with another girl.
Talking all night in a room.
All night, everything's slowing down.
I catch your eyes in the dark.
I wish I was yours...
Strangers, nobody knows we love.
I catch your eyes in the dark.
One look, relives a memory.
Remember me the way I used to be...
I prefer this version of the song to the album version as the lyrics are too quiet on the album version.
WarlockAshlii 3 years ago 3
It's actually "share", not "shared". "Shared" would make it past tense, and slightly lame. You've got to be in the present moment for good music.
