Great groove in this video. I like John Mayor's guitar playing in this. He stick's to a couple of places on the guitar and let's the music come out of him, rather than going all over the place. It's nice to see JM fans on this page. Sometimes it's slander, negative irrelavent crap or comparisons which doesn't make sense. Why have two guitarist sound the same? I bought Where The Light is, because I saw some previous performances, and this video was good. Also talented acoustically.

Mayer is one of the best for guitarists out there. His sound feels like hes talking through a guitar. That makes it sound so unique. Yea, there are probably guys out there that play leagues faster like bonamassa (just an example), but John all around, as an artist, has such a well accepted sound. I mean Dave Matthews asked him to come on and guest. If he sucked he would'nt be up there. Oh and the people that say he bites other people's style, name a comletely original artist out there today.

@rodey29 and those are people who have never picked up a guitar. People hate on Mayer because of his female "pop" fan base. Yet, if this listen to Continuum they would realize that the dude is an excellent soul/blues songwriter. If they listened to Any Given Thursday or Where the Light Is, they would hopefully realize that he is one of the best guitar players in the world who has some seriously nasty guitar chops.

It seemed to me like Mayer ran out of ideas half way through his solo and then thought of some new ones at the end. If you watch other clips of this that have his whole solo, the solo feels very anticlimactic and it felt like he threw in the hook at the end to recover. It was still enjoyable tho and the DMB all looked their usual selves grinning and dancing, so who the fuck cares?

I think its funny reading the comments saying Mayer didn't do anything original in this appearance. This is a 1min 45sec part of the song. If you watch the whole thing, Mayer does an original part that is really good, and all the while Carter is in the back grinning ear to ear because Mayer's addition is sick.
