Looks like The Hideaways I believe. As others say, seen the newer film same as the book title. That is quite good. Not exactly like the book, but equally as good. Plus, Lauren Bacall plays Mrs. Frankweiler!!!

I read it with my 4th grade class a few years ago and watched the movie, too. I think it might have been a newer version, though, if there is one. Because I remember Claudia being shown with sandy-colored hair.

The scene where she's laying in bed is sad because of the music they play. I'm trying to find that scene, which brought me here. xD

great clip, thanks for posting it, but come on, linking us to buy the movie and for 60 bucks??? not worth it in my opinion. I do remembering watching this movie way back in elementary school and thought it was pretty good. Also Wes Anderson gave a subtle nod to this film in The Royal Tennenbaums.
