Why would they name the son of Spectacular Bid...."lay down"? I don't get it. anyway thanks for posting and introducing him to me...I didn't know him. turns out he was 11-2-2 of 29 starts and ran from 1987-90. I really enjoyed the vid:)

You're right, Lay Down is a strange name for a horse, especially for one coming from The Bid himself, who never "laid down" in his racing career.
