People people people, breaking at the poll and having the nose vertical, the only way to get the vertical and breaking of at the poll is for those hindlegs to come under and raise their shoulders that's what causes the poll to be the highest point and the nose still leading the way. by just pulling on the reins to break at the poll isn't correct. You must ride back to front. Stregnthen their core, back and hindlegs and then and only then will you have a correct horse.
So this is amazing because my appaloosa/thoroughbred cross (Bandit) is also blind. I got him that way and they had he had some degenerate eye disease so I wonder if it was the same thing.
Bandit is very responsive to riding and like any thoroughbred or thoroughbred cross he loves running and once I get him going its hard to get him to stop. His blindness does not slow him down.

Just read about this. My daughter is in the process of breaking her gelding...an app sport horse with one eye.
This has given her so much to look up too.
