@WobulTterrag It depends on how you define libertarian. If you take it to mean American conservative "libertarianism" (which I do not), then he most certainly was not that. But if you take it to mean traditional libertarianism, then yes he was. It is the latter meaning that I intended.
Thanks from me too. Great collection of pics and superb music - just finished Maze of Death and deciding which PKD to read again before deciding which PKD to get I haven't read - maybe a collection of his shorts - maybe I'll read Scanner Darkly again or Man in the High Castle? Maybe in a few years time when my memory is going I'll start over again and read 'em all another time?
One of the most beautiful tributes I have ever had the pleasure to see. PKD was a great philosopher and metaphysician, and his work will never be classified as "only sciencefiction writing". It's more than writing, its perpetual experience. VALIS its a beautiful philosophical and metaphysical concept. Thanks to your music, this video is simply perfect. He will be proud. Kudos, 5 stars!
To me this man and his thought mean a lot of different things that are pretty difficult to write down.
The way he could get to the core of the matter, the deepness he could reach, by still staying on the surface of things.. Some of his books are something different from a work of art, something that still needs a name.
Hope the best for you now, Phil. You gave us a great work and we bring it in our heart. It still lives in our hearts.
The French have always appreciated him for the decidedly existential tone of many of his novels and short stories. I believe there is a Philip K. Dick festival still held annually in the city of Metz. If memory serves I also believe he was invited to and actually attended one of these in person.
a true visionary, he will always be my favourite writer!

Nice slideshow, but PKD was not a libertarian. At all.

'et in arcadia ego', roughly translated as "you may also be able to locate me in amusement arcades", esp. ones with fabled Polybius machines...

I recently finished reading PKD's biography. It's called "Divine Invasions: A Life of Philip K. Dick" by Lawrence Sutin. Highly recommended.

Nice video. Thanks. PKD is my favourite SF writer. Read Dick. Czytajcie Dicka. Don't take drugs, take PKD. It's better and cheaper ;-)
