Its such a pleasure to see the streets of broadway lined with people enjoying the boxing day meet. I think it was atleast 17 years ago, the lane to the kennels was lined with antis protesting against animal cruelty. These so called, animal welfare people, shook the horse boxs until they stood all over themselves and at least 7 horses had to be put down. Now tell me whos at fault here.
My Grandad was serving the the likes of you lot. They called it " in service". He thought it was right to give you a second horse; which meant when the first one was exhausted and the next creature was brought on. You are shameless as human beings. I also know about you breeding foxes purely for hunting; so that blasts your myth of keeping the fox population down. My Gran used to iron the lady of house's nightwear; how sad is that in this day and age?
Peoples attitudes towards RATS are poison them or trap them and give them a slow painful death, yet people have a really strange attitude towards foxes, which are also vermin and need to be controlled and the hunt is the best way.
Why? This video was posted for pro hunting people so really, there is no reason for you to be here and seeing as im actually in this video, then there is more reason for me to be watching it.
Because in the year 2010 why are "people" like yourself still carrying out such archaic acts. You have something seriously wrong in your syche. You may call it TRADITION but it is out and out cruelty to an animal who is outnumbered by horses, hounds, and supposedly educated human beings. Just goes to show that however much money you have, you cant buy class or humanity.
No, theres nothing wrong with me, and yes i do call it tradition, because thats what it is, or used to be before it was banned, just "people" these days, haven't been brought up to respect the traditions of Britain, this country in general is just one big disaster.
@pointopointgirl no 'people' these days have been bought up to respect animal rights, which 'surprisingly' don't include chasing an animal with a hundred or so horses, dogs and people, and that murdering it, all under the name of fun and tradition. Also when people say "the world would be overpopulated with foxes without hunting" well as the world is way over populated with humans, shall we just murder a whole lot of them and try and call it 'tradition'.
@pointopointgirl Traditionally we had slavery, didn't allow women to vote and sent 8 year old boys up chimmneys...all of them have gone, it is called progress...hunting with dogs rightly went the same way.
@Northstander If you have such a problem with hunting then why are you even watching this video? No, slavery and chimney boys were extinguished because more effective ways of doing those jobs were found, when you can find a better way of maintaining the population of foxes without hunting or culling them, then its ban will be justified.
@pointopointgirl I found the video whilst searching for something else entirely. I believe that unnecessary cruelty to any animal is wrong, they should be treated with dignity and to minimise suffering whether being killed for food or through being considered a pest. It is possible to control foxes and other pests with a gun, this is a quick and relatively humane method of control. I will never be pursuaded that being chased and torn to shreds by hounds is anything other than barbaric.
@Northstander The fact that you think that foxes are "Torn to shreds" just shows how naive you are to the subject of fox hunting, I could try and explain to you how it is the most humane way to control the fox population, but nobody ever listens as they are so set in there ways.
@pointopointgirl How is it humane to chase an animal over hill and dale until it is so exhausted that it can run no more, only for it to be killed by a pack of dogs, or a huntsman if they get there first. If you are able to convince me that this is in any way the kindest way to control foxes then I will happily change my mind, I am not set in my ways but am prepared to change my view as result of well reasoned argument.
@Northstander 9 out of 10 times if a fox is shot, it isn't killed properly thus crawls back to its hole and dies slowly and painfully, causing more pain to the animal, which even I think is more cruel. A hound 9 out 10 times will efficiently and cleanly break the foxes neck, an instant death, then the huntsman should, if doing his job properly, will take the fox away from the hounds but i freely admit that sometimes a pack of hounds may savage a fox, but they would be a very disobedient pack
@Northstander As far as chasing a fox until he is exhusted then cought by hounds, is rubbish. There is nothing smarter than a fit healthy fox in his own territory. I have on a number of times watched a hunted fox, gain ground on hounds and sit and watch the proceedings unfold in front of him, only to slip on and duck out of sight. Thus, this fox (healthy fox) will live on to produce other fit and healthy foxs. The weaker unhealthy foxs will on ocasin get cought and delt with in a swift manner.
i saw myself!! on my metal loopy phsycho horse!! who didnt want to wait for my sister!, seeing nigel coming down the road with them hounds made me feel so proud of hunting, i live for hunting, no matter what you antis say, you'll never change me
dappy hypocrite thats made me laugh, and drag hunting is not controlling the fox's, would you kick up a stink for all the rats that are being killed?? No i very much doubt you would, rats like fox's are vermin and need to be controlled.
Oscar Wilde was sooooo right: the unspeakable chasing the inedible. It makes me sick - all these wannabe toffs - the hangers on : KEEP DEATH OFF THE STREETS AND FIELDS
On the contrary lurcher08 (why are you named for a dog?) one: do not make assumptions: I live in the Cotswolds; two: I do know about hunting ~ it's fucking barbaric (and three I can spell English words properly.)
you can spell well arent you the clever little thing !there is alot more things in this world that are a hell of a lot more barbaric than this, so get of your high horse ! And so what if you live in the cotswolds, just because you live there doesnt mean you know about hunting, your just now a has been townie, living in the country trying to chance it.
I live in the countryside you arrogant idiot. Why are you hunters and members of that scummy organisation, the countryside alliance so big headed and full of yourselves that you assume everyone is pro hunting in rural britain? Ever thought about asking those who do not hunt what matters to them in the countryside... as one of them myself, hunting doesn't even make the top 500! You're a disgrace.
