I worked with Lindley on this tour in Europe, basically from 81-83. Nobody notices the 5 string guitar George plays or the mother of toilet seat National guitar Berny is picking. In the years I spent as a roadcrew this was my favorite band-every night was a new show. every day with these wackjobs fun. And the music(I dubbed it white guy reggae) was always awesome
A friend introduced me to David Lindley back in the 80s. Been a fan ever since..and eee..nic Dan Electro that bassplayer is pluckin. Thnx for posting this
I think it would be fair to say that David Lindley, Ry Cooder and Sonny Landreth are equally accomplished on slide. All hit on slightly different genres of music, amazing players. I saw David with Wally Ingram (former drummer of Timbuk 3) at an outdoor venue about 5 years ago supporting their "Twango Bango II" album. I couldn't believe the sound just two players can crank out. I bought the CD that night and love it today. I got a kick out of my kids singing along to "Sport Utility Suck".
sounded like they were singing a little too high somewhat zappaesque. helluva solo. ballsy song, david in his prime. maybe they were trying to stretch it a bit, sorta like over reaching. whatelver, it works
WOW great stuff! More recently He did a live performance at the great american muic hall with GE Smith for his 50-Watt fuse DVD! He looks kinda like weird-al here, LOL.....
Seen Mr. Dave, the king of polyester, many times, bith with and without El Rayo-X. I sure do wish the boys would get back together and tour.... but no matter... He still puts on a show you'll never forget.

shallow, silly people in charge, that's why! If they let us firm a 'Board', we could put him where he deserves to be!
