  • I worked with Lindley on this tour in Europe, basically from 81-83. Nobody notices the 5 string guitar George plays or the mother of toilet seat National guitar Berny is picking. In the years I spent as a roadcrew this was my favorite band-every night was a new show. every day with these wackjobs fun. And the music(I dubbed it white guy reggae) was always awesome

  • yessir

just discovered this old gem, aah tnxx!

  • Can somebody post David Lindley & El Rayo X version of Papa was a Rolling Stone

  • Your old Lady... Is My old Lady too.........

  • The shared talent of David and Jackson Browne is another milestone in music......

  • A friend introduced me to David Lindley back in the 80s. Been a fan ever since..and eee..nic Dan Electro that bassplayer is pluckin. Thnx for posting this

  • I was there in1988 at the Cabooze bar in MN. Maybe not this particular video but the same riddum.

  • my favorite clip on you tube. i watch it if i need cheering up.

  • Along with Ry Cooder, this guy is the most precise slide player in the world!!!!!

  • You're probably right, Keith.

  • I think it would be fair to say that David Lindley, Ry Cooder and Sonny Landreth are equally accomplished on slide. All hit on slightly different genres of music, amazing players. I saw David with Wally Ingram (former drummer of Timbuk 3) at an outdoor venue about 5 years ago supporting their "Twango Bango II" album. I couldn't believe the sound just two players can crank out. I bought the CD that night and love it today. I got a kick out of my kids singing along to "Sport Utility Suck".

  • I ADORE them! You are TOTALLY correct! Sadly, many dont have a clue who the are!

  • @johntrik : not to forget Bonnie Raitt & John Butler :-)

  • I love this guy, hard to believe a lot o' folks never heard of 'im.

  • He's cool!

  • Imagine...just imagine if Dave did a song with David Gilmour, they could create a super sound together!

  • Does anybody know anything about the sky-blue guitar with the wild shape? Like, who made it, and when?

  • El-rayo Xcellent...sorry,couldn't resist.Can't resist this either.

  • who rules slide guitar?

  • Lindley still rules the slide, imvho.

  • @bankan01 daves great but you should also check junior brown

  • It's not every day that you see a rastaman playing finger cymbals...

  • go david go!!!

  • sounded like they were singing a little too high somewhat zappaesque. helluva solo. ballsy song, david in his prime. maybe they were trying to stretch it a bit, sorta like over reaching. whatelver, it works

  • Really great stuff. I never saw him live before in my life

  • WOW great stuff! More recently He did a live performance at the great american muic hall with GE Smith for his 50-Watt fuse DVD! He looks kinda like weird-al here, LOL.....

  • Again,Greasy...Very Greasy.. !! Mr Dave !

  • Seen Mr. Dave, the king of polyester, many times, bith with and without El Rayo-X. I sure do wish the boys would get back together and tour.... but no matter... He still puts on a show you'll never forget.

  • Even better than the CD.... Why don't they tour the UK? Come on promoters get Mr.Dave and the El rayo boys over here.

    KGE

  • great stuff...why this guy isn't more famous is beyond me...what a talent

  • shallow, silly people in charge, that's why! If they let us firm a 'Board', we could put him where he deserves to be!

  • thanks
