why didn't you take the dragon bones and scales?

you can make a really good armor, or make a really good armor and sell it (for a really big pile o' money :P) later on the game...

when i've maxed my smithing, i had about 40 of each, and a flux of money ensued...

@WoWLord242 - i personally fast traveled to a location near and scouted, I can see what you mean.

Itsnot found easily, you must access it by going through 'Bonechill Passage' (mountain symbol on the map) and you will arrive in a clearing called ancient 'Ancient's Acent' (looks like a deer/dragon symbol)- (im not sure if you can climb there or if you 'HAVE' to go through but it seemed annoyingly straightforward to me.

its a shame no animals actually come...

it only works if there an animal near you...which if there is they are usually attacking the enemy already anyway -_-
