Beck and Murdoch have a point, even if their rhetoric is a tad strong. Obama IS being a hypocrite by claiming to be entirely above the race issue and then proceeding to talk about race issues as though they don't affect white people in similar financial/geographical situations equally. But that's a case of playing to the crowd rather than some major scandal, and there ARE serious social issues that need to be considered surrounding inner-city poverty etc.

WHAT was he (Obama) talking about?? WHAT was the quote? Murdoch was on Australian TV so he could get away with saying something as vague as, "He [Obama] did make a very racist comment—uh—about—you know—blacks and whites and so on," without the interviewer asking him exactly what comment Murdoch was referring to. Had the President made anything which could be construed as a racist comment, I dare say it would have been all over the American press and we'd all know about it.
