My mother likes this song and frequently sing it with tears because we, her children live far away. Now this song touches me more than before as my own children are away. However regardless of the words I always very much liked the melody of this song
This man was clearly a musical genius! I regret having been born too late to have appreciated his art and the culture that celebrated it in his lifetime. A million thanks to whoever posted this, and a toast to art!
What about Farid El Atrash? no comment! just the bigest Syrian singer! I have (almost?!?) the hole collection of him but this is my favorite song (especially the..second part!)
Can u tell me the name of this movie, I remember watching it as a kid because it was my dad's favorite Arabic singer. My brother, sister and I didn't know how to speak Arabic but we loved the music so much that we'd sing to it as if we knew what the words meant. This brings back so many amazing memories. I hope someone could tell me the name of the movie, I'd appreciate it. Thanks
Thank you for the lovely music. Farid al Atrash wa actually Syrian and not Egyptian, as stated.

@wallsmash actually he was lebanese, and not syrian.. he was from a little town called Druze.. his sister Asmahane was also a well known singer..
