is it me or are the fuel tanks exposed. at least 3 cars burst into flames. i know that they are huge hits but compared to nascar they seem to light up at the smallest scratch

The fuel cells are puncture and fire resistant but the fuel lines and carbs can be torn open by impacts.  Even the fuel cells can be torn open if the impact is great enough.

Nascar should let the trucks race full bore with no carb restrictions. It makes for great racing. And do away with the side windows they aren't necessary. These race cars are much safer today than they were 10 years ago.

This wreck has everything that makes a wreck scary, a hard impact, an airborn flip, an explosion, a smash into the catch fence, and debris everywhere.

I tell you, Geoff was lucky, and the so were the fans. Every bit of NASCAR safty did its job perfectly and you can see the result. Does he still race today? i know he did 2 years ago. But i havnt watched in around a year.

Geoff Bodine was very lucky to be alive after that. He was in an interview and u can't really can't see it any of these repalys for maybe the last one but the thing that saved his life was the one piece of robar steel on the roof that was still in tact. If that has broken Geoff Bodine would for sure be dead.
