what so you constantly row as an 8? thats stupid, when you row in 4's or 6's in an 8 you can work on your individual techincal flaws. Its also good for power ban sessions. I dont know anyone who does do that in training.
well i dont know anything about training an 8. I row a single only. the number one thing though is coordination of the blades and body momentum. i would think. and having half the boat not row wouldnt really develop that coordination.
well it does for example if you have everyone except 5 and 6 rowing the bow 4 lean to follow the stern pair without seeing them. This way you can feel for the rythym in the boat and become more in tune with the stern pair. When you cant see someones body you need to learn to coordinate the blades another way by looking at stern pairs blades and developing a feeling for the boat.
