  • NO CREI QUE ERA TAN DIFICIL EL TEMA HASTA QUE VI TU VIDEO JE

  • QUE BUENO CAEZA, NO PENSE QUE ERA TAN BUENO EL TEMA HASTA QUE LO TOCASTE... DE 10 COMO LO TOCAS

  • MAEEEEEEEEESTRO!

  • simply amazing,,put up more to watch,,i love it,,

  • smashing man!

  • @kaorurocks ty

  • How much your fingers cost, like both legs of Cristiano Ronaldo?

  • @josip0258 not for sale, sorry :)

  • Can you teach me to play like you learned Manzarek? :D

  • Bravo, superb mate

  • @natschaff thanks!!

  • Manzarek is a genius and you are second to none.

  • Excellent and I now feel so inspired - great job, great version - love it!!

  • I learned how to play this solo (both hands) from this video. Except for the part at 1:57, I don't play those chords I just play them with one finger I think they are d e and f#. Anyways, thank you very much I watch this video every day and it keeps me from getting depressed about certain things in my life

  • Great Cover man :D

  • @GEDAnkew thanks!

  • Was always my favorite song to play in the Band! I played it on a Farfisa from Italy and a Leslie 145 and a 6 speaker bass because the keyboard was stereo with separate channels. Good job - I enjoy this vid very much thanks for the good work!

  • 5 dislikes are from a jealous Ray Manzerek.

  • @Sherpaful lol

  • Left handed piano

  • This is the best cover of this song. I can play this pretty well myself, but can't seem to get the right sound out of my keyboard

  • Great thing! You give me a help, we want it to play in our hobbyband...

  • @Wahni thank you, glad I could help!

  • Holy lord... *_*

  • Awesome. Very nice - great song. I hope to use to play this song one day! My keyboard is coming tomorrow! teenage keyboardists? Hope old are you?

  • @eyesonthetube thank you! i am 23, this was recorded when I was 21

  • Great Job, by the way. I have tried for years to get this song down on my B3, but didn't have the capabilities like youtube back then.

  • How do like the XS7? And what are you using for settings?

  • @protectionman the XS7 is a great keyboard, I have used many of the "big name" keyboards and this is probably my favorite overall to use. The layout is easy to use and you don't have to go through a dozen menus to make a simple change easy to use and most of the presets are outstanding! For this video, I actually used Vox Continental samples that I bought online and loaded into the Motif's RAM

  • That was so great. Thanks. I've seen Ray Manzarek perform this a few times but he never does it the same any time. It's all improvised on the spot I guess, or he just likes to see how he can change it up each time to keep it interesting for himself. Playing it the exact same way for forty some years would really get to be a drag. Hard to believe but some of his performances are an improvement over the original recording.

  • MUY BUENO HERMANO!!

  • @GDEasley I believe the guitar is playing the "down" part while the organ plays "up" on the album version

  • Comment removed

  • See my problem is that my brain just doesn't seem to want to play the bass and the organ part at the right time. I can play each part separate but not at the same time... which is why I am a much a better guitar player... I really tried organ but to no avail.

  • @GDEasley putting the two parts together is the tricky part, but you have the first step done, and that's learning the separate parts. You can now slowly start to play the 2 parts at the same time, just start with a few notes at a time. Here's a tip, try playing one part on the keyboard while singing or humming the part for the other hand, this is a good exercise!

  • Hey! You son of a bitch! For years I had my nice little way of trying to play this song! Everyone thought it was great and nifty! And then I come across your version, and realize that I was playing it half assed! Hey man! Thanks... Now I'll really be able to play it better! You son of a bitch! lol

  • Nice

  • pretty good pretty neat

  • i can play this almost the same as you well done

  • Could i play this on my reagular piano, yould it sound ok?

  • @TheKelseyFace thanks alot! It's not an easy song to learn or play consistantly, there are a lot of bits to remember but it can be done, give it a try!

  • Ive been playing piano for 8 years, and i think it would take me along time to learn this... i look up to you man.

  • @TheKelseyFace Yeah it took a while to figure out and remember every note, but it helps to know the song very well beforehand! thank you

  • respect

  • i wish i could play piano so i could play this ;(

  • Very skillful, much respect.

  • @LeslieGKing thank you

  • THAT IS GREAT. Awesome.

You don't find good, teenager keyboardists these days.

Everybody wants to be a guitarist or a drummer which sucks, LOL.

  • @RatedRCodebreaker yea that gets annoying but its good when ur trying to get into a band cause there isnt much competition

  • @RatedRCodebreaker true, that's one of the reasons I started playing keys, everyone I knew played guitar and I wanted to do something that would stand out

  • @RatedRCodebreaker I'm a drummer and quite a good one actually, but I'm also learning piano and i play piano 5 hours a day, so? I think both instruments are awesome, so you shouldn't disrespect any of them, coz' believe me it's not easy to learn to play a musical instrument specially when you are the age i was when i started (7 years old) now i'm fourteen and i think that the fact that someone plays a musical instrument (Any musical instrument) is admirable. Thanks for your attention, mate.

  • Very good !!

  • Oh fuck. I should really get back on the keyboard...

  • PRO SKILLS MAN

  • Superb playing there! I am about to upload a 'Light My Fire' cover, and was wondering what notes you are playing in the left hand in the main verse (Am)sections? Its kinda hard to follow your left hand here thats all!

  • @algraceblues @algraceblues Firstly, thanks for the comment! let me know when you post the video and I'll be sure to check it out. My LH is playing the notes of the 2 RH chords (Am7 to F#m7), so it's A-G-C-E-C-E to F#-E-A-C#-A-C#

  • @RobOnTheKeys Thanks very much! I have uploaded a version I recorded a while ago with similar bass notes (youtube.com/watch?v=vTJLa0prKEA) although I will be re-recording now I have the proper ones. Thanks again!

  • wow that is so cool

  • @majya91 thanks!

  • Your doing the bass in your left hand? or is originally that way?

  • @YukoBizarra The original song had bass guitar and piano bass at the same time, I'm playing the piano bass part the same way Ray did

  • Thats quite a set up youve got there nice job!

  • amazing, ur fingers are like spiders :D

  • I'm subbing :D

  • @iceman590444 thanks, I haven't uploaded much lately but I will be making up for it in the near future, stay tuned for more Doors covers!

  • This is superb.

  • 5 people hesitated to take peyote, good cover

  • Excellent job on all your videos. Great camera angle. I feel like I'm looking over Ray Manzerk's shoulder.

  • bravo!!!

  • one of the Rhodes piano presets that came with the Motif

  • what type of bass are you using

  • AMAZING

  • Brilliant

  • what kind of voices do you use???

  • @thedruyd13 Vox Continental samples for the organ and a Rhodes piano preset for the bass

  • @RobOnTheKeys thanks so much!!!

  • @RobOnTheKeys How do I get them?

  • @iceman590444 I bought them online from vintagekeyboardsounds

  • This is absolutely unreal. You are so unbelievably talented. There are no words to describe this, I have the utmost respect for you.

  • @dramallamadingdong why thank you!

  • you're the best

  • well I see I will not be the first one to go wow.............you might have even inspired me to go back to the keyboard.

  • five persons can't play this song

  • well done, properly played in all respects. most people don't get it.

  • @gingervytis thank you sir

  • This is a half step down from the studio recording. FYI

  • Also your right hand seems like it should be on the upper A for the F#m7 in the beginning verse, yet it is not and still sounds like it's a higher chord.. Strange.

  • @vilago5 The album version sounds a half step lower than this and a little bit slower because the tapes were slowed down when they mastered it but the version I am playing is the 40th anniversary version that is at the original speed and pitch

  • @RobOnTheKeys I did not know that. Thanks for clearing it up. playing it the old way was harder anyway.

  • @RobOnTheKeys

Would you know where I could get the sheet music you are playing. One copy I have leaves out the solo and the other copy I have must be a MIDI to notation because it sonds like crap. . . Thanks . . Awesome play BTW

  • @ReefHermit I don't have a sheet I'm afraid, I learned this by ear

  • dude your a boss .. haha

  • @freshhnisi thanks haha

  • Wow!

  • Wow, very impressive. I was wondering are you reading or playing by ear? Did you learn it by ear or from a music book? I'm asking out of genuine curiosity not to demean you in any way, I'm just wondering. My instinct says you play it by ear but then again, hmmm?

  • dude, that was fucking awesome. why shits like justin beaver have more views than things like this??

  • Does the Motif have a Farfisa setup?

  • muy bueno, no se equivocó nunca! Felicitaciones.

  • i don't understand, your keybord can have the organ and bass sound at the same?

  • @TheLizardKing94 yes! it can have up to 4 sounds in 4 different areas, I just choose key range for the sounds and adjust the pitch if necessary

  • @RobOnTheKeys fucking awesome, very useful for playing doors songs

  • @TheLizardKing94 you can split the voices

  • wow!!!!

  • Any way you could slow it down and break it up so we all can learn how to play this song like you. GREAT JOB!! How long did it take you to learn?

  • This is one of the best things in whole Internet!

  • dude, you are absolutely amazing!! gah im so full of joy right now! dam, did ray manzarek pass on some of his talent onto your hands? :D

  • ...........woah........

  • Fantastic work man!!! You opened my eyes and made me realize that when I played this song 3 years ago I just played half of the awesomeness you unveiled here!! :) So much to learn! Need to get back to it! Awesome stuff!! God bless :)

  • I've learned so much from this video alone and i have to thank you!! but there is one part i need help with, on 2:10 through 2:20 can you just tell me what your playing so i could try to see how that sounds compared to how i am playing it now? please ..

  • @CobeyUYA i send pm

  • @CobeyUYA what you play is 3 variations of 2 note chords all centred around the D chord. they are:

    F# and A,

    E and G,

    D and F#

Mess around with them for awhile and get them in the right order.

  • Wow, man! Now that's amazing play. Congratulations. You must have loads of fun playing like that.

  • Great job! great job, and thanks so much for posting this!

  • @bajacapt thank you

  • Is it transposed ?

  • @clayp00l0 I think I transposed it by an octave so I could split between bass and organ but this is the pitch the song was played at on the record

  • IS this a vox continental sample?

  • @nugster1 yes

  • That was really great!

  • Good job, but i don't like the tone of the Motif XS7. I like my Yamaha PSR-e323 tone much more, but it hasn't bass-split so i play full chords on verses but bass-line on chorus.

  • nice played....you deserve to have that powerfull keyboard lol congratulations :)

  • Now that's what I'm talking about!! Pure and simple awesome delivery. You're the man ....."you the man!"

  • Wow, what is wrong with five people.

  • please friend makes a tutorial of all the solo :)

  • Fucking Awesome!!!

  • You really should upload musics from Morrison Hotel :)

    awesome job man

  • You made one of the best covers on Youtube.

You would most 'def make the best tutorial on youtube! =)

  • MTF OWSOME////GREAT!!!!!!!

  • @OTTERMANN2 thanks

  • Another question, what samples are? where I can buy, any webpage?

    Thanks a lot!

  • @osvtorr I will send you a pm

  • Great Job bro... very nice!

one question, the sound is some preset of motif or is a sample?

    Thanks.

  • @osvtorr thanks! they are samples

  • Absolutely the best cover on Youtube!!!

  • Wow! that was crazy, i dont get how people can learn all of this by ear

I've been playing for 10 years now and i just can picture myslef learning all that by ear

  • This is really good! Great Cover. You do it as close to Manzarek as anyone.

  • @camertron010 thanks alot!

  • that's it i'm learning this from this video, i swear that it is exactly right.

  • hi, do you have the partiture for this song?? i want it pleasee

  • your hear is so fucking amazing perfect transcription

  • 5 people only like the Sex Pistols.

  • Why do you have the top keyboard

If you don't even play it

  • i just keep watching and watching

  • you do it exactly, great job

  • @The212hhh thanks alot!

  • @RobOnTheKeys Your welcome.

  • you are amazing! insurance must be a difficult job, congratulations! :D

  • Brilliant work, Rob. I'm learning this song for my (non-commercial, just-for-fun) band and have all the organ part down now except the backing fills during the guitar solo, which aren't published in the sheet music editions of the song.

I see in the comments lots of people asking you for sheet music but also see your note that you don't read music. If you send me a midi file of your performance, I'd be happy to create sheet music of it for you (not too hard with the right notation software).

  • Thank you for sharing! Awesome and great! (But didn't Manzarek play both the lower and upper deck of keys when he did the groovy part? :) )

But hey man, I really appreciate you sharing this with all of us Doors fans. I've been searching for, but cannot find, a live version of The Doors where they do the whole 7 minute song and where Ray plays the full keyboard version, and I can't find it.

I know it's out there, 'cause I remember seeing it. And he played it mathematically perfect.

  • Yet another thanks!!!! Absolutely fabulous darling.

  • Is that a Yamaha Motiff?, Great work sounds very accurate

  • @toneseeker2 yes it is

  • You are Manzarek's son :P Excelent job!

  • your are a master!

  • @vampuero96 thank you!

  • His hands look like spiders Ooo

  • great job ! will you do a 2nd attempt ? i could watch you every day...great song...great playing

  • where I can find the sheet????

  • Loco.. la cagaste.. eris seco... Ray should be proud..!!

  • you are my god jajajajajjajaja very good work

  • without a doubt,,,,,,,,,,,best cover I've EVER heard,,,makes me wish I had listen in music classes,,,dam,,you didn't miss a beat!!!!

  • Awesome

  • Thank you man, very nice job... The sound is ready inside memory of Motif or you made this????
