Actually, the Egyptian spirit is supposed to be called Yu-Gi-Oh. I think it means "Game king" or something, because as it turns out, "Yugi" means game. It's weird, on the back of the manga, that's what Yami is referred to as, but inside it, he's called Yugi, spirit, pharaoh, or "other me." Eh, whatever. I just like writing this, really, because I usually can't get any of my friends to listen to me :P

Yami is just what they call him before he regains his memory and finds out his real name.

He was called Yami, meaning in Japanese "Dark" for a reason explained later in the episodes.

His Real Name as a Pharao is ATEM, it is ATEM, never changed, it was learned in the final season of Yu Gi Oh.

ATEMU is the Japanese way of saying the english version of it because Japanese characters are usually written in pairs. A-TE-MU!

This is a great tutorial. I tried to draw Yugioh! freehanded, but didn't like the results. So I used Webtricity v2 Draw to draw him. It turned out great, thanks to your tutorial.

Actually, he's Pharaoh Atemu.

And Yu-Gi-Oh apparently means game master in Japanese, so technically he can be THE Yu-Gi-Oh.

Yami was used to describe him as "dark" Yugi before they knew about his Pharaoh-ness.
