  • Nice track, but it owes a lot to Hendrix's 'Dolly Dagger'.

  • @jannyrcobs No disrepect but........BOLLOCKS !!!!

  • This is the original mix, with Tetsu's juicy bass tone well to the fore!

  • 'Love and a peaceful world' ... Free !!!!!!!

  • fckin all time classic rock- nevr ages!!

  • One of the BEST rock songs ever. How sad that Paul Kossoff died so young.

  • 2.10-2.24 most significant 14 seconds of your life>?

  • The best free song!

  • the lyrics in this tune are awesome P.Rogers is great, "and I know what your wishin for..." how these guys put stuff like that to great music blows me away! Jimmy Page actually said that he had wished that Rogers would have been lead singer for zep.wow.

  • Great voice Rich ,powerful ,never forced ,always in command.

  • classic...Paul Rodgers still looking yummy

  • 1:02 - 5 people shot themselves, then fell into the wishing well. ^_^

  • 5 people fell into the wishing well and may not return!

  • love the '' uhh, yes '' part of this song at the end . pure class

  • r i p the worlds best ever guitarist paul kossov'' One of the 'i died young brigade''! they dont make guitarists like him very often 'or ever'

  • Pretty Good Company what?

  • These r all great in-puts, but let's not forget the great band Bad Co. and this Paul Rodgers guy; who no doubt is

one of the tops in vocals full soul rock+roll!

Just relive the days of running thru the nights

with your pals spinning LPs from house to house

basement to attic, just learning life with the joy of

Paul Rodgers + Co. whaling out songs that made ya sing

    freak out!

  • posted to wrong comment XD my bad...

(ps sorry for triple post also) >.<

    i failed today

  • You guys are forgetting Van Halen. They were a great band, as well

  • @miloszwojto you forgot supertramp <3

    peace

  • I must be getting old lol, how much nicer is this than the the latest sounds with no feeling, all about how i made money shagged loadsa birds and have a hot car lol. These guys had all of that but didnt advertise 8)

  • I saw these guys with Traffic in El Paso. tx 1972

  • it doesn't get better than this!

  • @tomcardello "Heavy Load" by David Clayton & Todd K. Smith . A very good book for the fans

  • <3

  • tres coooooooooooooooll................

  • Paul Rogers = Most historically underrated rock vocalist

  • The sound of kossoffs guitar gives me chills.

  • @DaveEnsor There is alot of debate on wishing well. They say kossoff didnt play on the track and it was a Session player called Snuffy walden. The cd says that snuffy played on the song. and if i remember rightly the book heavy load said the at this point kossoff was out of it too much and snuffy played and tried to copy koss

  • @blindboybenton Didnt know that but it takes nothing from the effect of hearing it though , thanks for the info.

  • @blindboybenton you are correct sir. snuffy walden

  • so they do have other songs

  • Rocky yet melodic Nice chord sequence and guitar work

  • Timeless!

  • MTV almost ruined music in the 80's when the visual became more lucrative than the aural; but there were some standouts - Tom Petty, The Pretenders, Dire Straits, Talking Heads........and the great Guns 'n' Roses finally killed hair bands. The 60's rule because rock and roll was new and exciting.

  • @EDSHAM Adele ~ "I make music for ears not eyes."

  • @EDSHAM don't forget the Cult...the only band that kept greasy grimy rock and roll alive through out the 80's

  • Between about 1976 and 1979 I was playing guitar full time in a rock band. If you think this song is great to listen to...and it is...it's really great to play for people.

We played this one and Alright Now, usually in the third set. People loved it, dance floor was always full...amps up to 8 by then, they didn't get any louder after 7, just more distorted (fuse would blow if I did a whole set on 9). Good Times...GOOD TIMES!

  • now thats when rock was at its best.

  • Cut out all the friction and just enjoy a sound !

  • I have lived trough every word in this song.

  • my fave song by Free..

  • dolly dagger?

  • its funny because i was born in in 1996, and i get pretty depressed when i see what i missed out on -.- i love being over 30+ years out of date!

  • Freddie Barton does a great cover of this track. Awesome tune.

  • I love this-it takes me back to better days!

  • The best ...........Thats all there is to say

  • Yes 19wt60 .. i think you are right. It is very spiritual song for me and i think Paul's ashes were interned somewhere near the Gannel estuary in Newquay (Cornwall). I think the song was possibly about Paul .. as peace and love are mentioned (which was his ideal) .. and i have often wondered if the "Wishing Well" was about this place .. as he often visited it. It was a tragic day for music when he died .. who else plays or has played a guitar like that.

  • One of the best tunes...............

  • Great music ... i have read this song is about Paul Kossof !

  • @98Johnrobert

thats right. as far as i know he never played on this recording. a tragic day for music when died.

  • I was looking for Buckethead's Wishing Well and stumbled upon this...

    very cool song...

  • I was brain washed with this all through my twenties.

Thank you God, what a blessing :)

  • Rocks!

  • 4 people need to sort their fucking lives out.

  • @Shagrat65 killing me bro! agree 100%

you get my vote for best comment.

  • @medic357 : Cheers mate, sometimes it just sickens me how anyone can thumb this down. Seppuku is the only solution I believe

  • @Shagrat65 I concur except that it requires honor. These oxygen thieves have none of that to offer. They just need to get their asses back to their J.Bieber channel.

  • So they did make other songs besides Alright Now! hahah It is to bad this song never gets played.

    Thanks for posting this.

  • awsome band, awsome song

  • i m wishing bad to 4 people...

  • Ja żałuje tylko tego ze nie żyłem w tamtych czasach ;)

  • ...You are a retarded person, westlifehateclub WTF! Westlife are amazing...

  • @HannahGrahamOfficial yeah well people can have their opinions right?

  • Dorset based band "Stone Finger" nail this great song. Video will be uploaded soon.

  • This is my all time favourite rock record. I just LOVE it and I'm having it played at my funeral along with Aint no sunshine when she's gone, Bill Withers of course, and just to make veryone cry Gone to soon by MJ not one of my favourite artistes but I think it is a very appropriate song for a funeral.

  • THE greatest band of all time dont forget they were only kids when they made there first lp if rodgers and fraser could have kept it together they would have been bigger than zeppelin

  • Comment removed

  • true olden sound which is so much more than you hear

  • You always were a good friend of mine,

    but you're always saying farewell...

  • well done on the video looks great and this songis great i cant stop listening to it

  • Sometimes

    Sometimes you change you’re mind

Because you found a wish from the wishing well

    I’ve always done what works

    Mostly what works for me

But I can’t help worrying about the children and the mothers to be

Yea sometimes you change your mind

    And for extra measure

    Maybe you change the times

  • @westlifehateclub thanks for the tune one of my favourites!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thanks to Joe Bonamassa for telling me about Free. Ya'll check Bonamassa out.

  • I was 12 years old when I first heard this. I am a bit of a music fan. It was up there, with Hawkwind and T Rex! Still is. Still have the same feeling!

  • Paul Rogers looks and sounds as good now as he did 30 years ago. one of the best rock/blues voices of all time.

  • classic will last till the end off time

  • @stevewilks99 sooooo right dude! aslong as theres some normal people in the world

  • Jimi Hendrix got purple haze from this song

  • @guitarmessiah95 Wrong bud. Hendrix recorded Purple Haze about five years before Wishing Well was released. Paul Rogers(the lead guitarist on the track)DID rip off Jimi rather obviously. Kossoff probably would have come up with something a bit more creative.

  • Man...when I was 20 & playing in bands, this was my/our nirvana......white suburban rythmn n moves....no apologies....

  • awesome!

  • @TampaReefer79 please shut up about him im sick of hearing about him on every video i go on, im also sick of hearing about how many dislikes a video has

  • @scalbard

    Completly agreed.

    Rock on.

  • this guitar <3

  • Muy buenos,la primera vez que los excucho.Buena voz y su musica es contagiosa.Ya no se hace musica como esta.La primera excucha ya te atrapa y otra vez a excucharla.

  • RIP the brilliant paul kossov, one of the original 5 great guitarists ever. The guitaring in this record is 2nd to none

  • @johntheboymac Paul Kossoff didn't play on this record, it's actually Paul Rodgers guitar playing you can here.

  • @johntheboymac

Absolutely ! - this song is so great and it just makes me want to jump for joy !

  • Brilliant from a brilliant album - Heartbreaker. Paul Kossof's perfect wailing guitar and the haunting use of the mellotron. Such a sad story. They reached perfection and split up. RIP PK you are missed.

  • Trouble is mate, you just don't get this amazing kind of sound anymore. Nobody is in that area to be influenced by the fantastic Blues sound and trying for something new. Listen to Lynyrd Skynyrd and infact Led Zep, thats the sound we all want back, something that Free did wonderfully.

  • @owkillari Free and Bad Co have a special kind of energy that's unique to them. Part of it is Paul Rodgers.

  • @owkillari Point of fact my friend, all that we have "new" around us is lack-luster at best. We are building strictly on what has been made great by those who have come before us. True innovation and initiative, creativity to say the least, has been stifled by political correctness and an education system that no longer allows free thought.

  • can everybody shut up and go look fr good music instead of moaning about it, there are some amazing new bands out there not getting the credit they deserve because people like you are moaning about the bands from your hey day not being around anymore, Check ouot the answer, black stone cherry, parlour mob, black keys, electric mary nd more. Buy Classic rock magazine and find out loads of new bands. Free were amazing but there are other new bands who are just as good

  • Cant beat the Classics

  • Saw Bad Company last night... They were AWESOME... love their music and the venue was sold out!

  • Agree with you all, Free were fantastic but don't forget John Mayall, saw him at The Jazz Cafe a few weeks back, he's 76 and still superb, my friend had never heard of him, great evening, see them while you have the chance. No money so missed Johnny Winter at Shepherds Bush, probably last chance but lots of new talent, check out Virgil and the Accelerators, Oli Brown, Joanne Shaw Taylor and Billy Walton Band, don't be living in the past,

  • Paul Rodgers is still alive you fool mike47ashling

  • @tommomoto He's talking about Paul Kossoff - who Rodgers wrote this song about when Kossoff was really unstable with drink & drugs

    .

Hence the lyrics; "...you might shoot yourself, or is that what you're trying to do?"

    .

    So indeed, RIP Paul

  • @tommomoto

    He's referring to Paul Kossoff.

  • Best band EVER!

  • This MEGAROCK!!!!! Absolutely amazing.

  • Excellent song! This is one of the groups that was totally misreprented in my opinion. They had music arrangements that are still as valid today as in their day. Love this group! Thanks for posting!

  • Damn, Paul Rodgers could sing.

  • Ah man, there's an opening riff like this on another song and I just can't think what it is. It has been bugging me for about a week now. xD

  • A staple from my childhood. Great track!

  • cosa c'è di meglio?FREE!

  • you should check out joe bonamassa and chantel mcgregor

  • Michael391994 ...right!

A legendary band and a wonderfull song this...pop history!

  • This was from the last studio Free album (Heartbreaker) ..Andy Frazer had left and Kossoff was so wrecked by the drugs he hardly played on it..(most of the guitar being done by Rodgers)..Tetsu and Rabbitt were playing bass and keyboards hence the "unfree " like sound..still great though mainly through Rodgers vocals

  • F**K'n awsome band F**K'n awsome song

  • Great Effin' Song!

    Timeless, Moving, Classic...

  • my dad always said i would have enjoyed growing up in the 80's

  • my bad 70's

  • @SamDoggyDogg Your dad must be a retard the 80's music was pretty sh**. Better growing up through the 60's or 70's or even 90's.

  • @Jupitersgoose Synthesizer killed the classic rock sound.
