What I love about this show is that altho it's a sitcom, it's partially filmed outside!! It makes it seem ever so real when you can have an episode in the garden, on the street,... or by a river side with riparian entertainments :>

It was just proper in those days for men to do certain things for the women. Women laws are a very modern thing and this is far from modern Britain.
