what's your cpu and specs,cause with one 8800gt oc at 700/1675/940 i get over 60fps on one card and it doesn't get choppy at all it might be your cpu bottlenecking your gpu cause i get a lot better results just using one 8800gt

Hey, i also have an 8800gt single card, and when i run UT3 demo, i only get max 60-62, obviously with V-sync off, cuz my refresh rate is 60. Just wondering, even with it off, does it still affect my card from reaching frames OVER 60, cuz its kinda bugging me, :p , bench's show this card *single* getting like 80-120 fps.. :S thx!

UT3 has a set in-game FPS limit of 62, you must disable this to surpass 62, and your monitors refresh rate will not affect the fps passing said rate. BUT anything past it is just "lost" and honestly the average person will not be able to tell the difference from 60fps and 70+fps just for bigger e-peen tbh.

Unreal Tournament 3 ain't supporting SLi, right? I get around 60-65FPS on my overclocked 2900XT at 788/900 at highest visuals, ofcourse. Along with a AMD Athlon X2 6000+ at 3266mhz.

Wow dude....I got a question though....I have an AMD 64 socket 939 running at 2.0 ghz with 1 MB of DDR1 RAM, and I got a crappy ass AGP card right now.....I don't wanna spend the money on getting a core 2 duo and a new mobo and new ddr and everything, but I really want an 8800gt....do you think it would be a good idea to buy a cheap 939 motherboard replacement that has a PCI-E slot, that way I could buy the 8800gt and then switch over my AMD cpu/memory (maybe add a gig of ram)

you 939 processor and DDR1 memory are bottlenecking the shit out of your 8800's. I get 60FPS with no slow down at any time, and im using a single 8800gts 640MB and im running at 1440x900(slightly more pixels than 1280x1024)

Get a core 2 duo with a 680i motherboard and some good DDR2 memory and your FPS in all games that don't have a cap should increase by 20-30%

I have 939 amd x2, 1GB DDR1, 8600GTS OC, and can run at max settings at 1280x1024 with at least 30fps average.

Now tell me, why do i need am2 or core2duo??

I can't understand why people spend an extra £400 on CPU, memory, graphics, raptor x harddrives etc for a few fps!?
