Well I'm glad you posted this video. That one pic. of the lady with the boxing gloves was funny but for the rest of the pictures, I don't know what possessed the photoshoppers to make them look even more scarier. Too much [wasted] time on their hands no doubt.
How is anorexia perfection? If these women are only considered perfect AFTER being photo shopped then surely there is something very very wrong with the world. So the question should not be " How can we strive to attain a perfection that does not exist?" it should be "why do so many young women consider these thin, bony models to be 'perfect'?" and then maybe we might get somewhere.

I think that some of the 'real' photos were actually photoshopped. 2:21 for example, or I think 2:13 because of her wrist. Bust most of the fake ones are obvious, like 3:00 or 3:44.
you can tell which pictures are fake as hell as the head is WAAAAY out of porportion to the body when it's thinified, plus anyone that thin can't possibly stand, never mind model or walk. They wouldn't even have the strength to brush flies away from their face; take a look at real videos and real pictures of starving children in Uganda or Darfur and you'll see.
@xopenheartx the head is not an indicator of it being fake most of the time. Its normal for anorexics to have a head unproportionally big - as their bone structure is built one way. when they diet to the extreme and there is no fat on the body the head looks to big.
my friend is definately anorexic and she wont admit it . she ruined her life tring to be skinny ,she missed alot of days and her diet has made her very moody and has caused her to fall out with alot of people including me.Please dont do that to yourself because who wants to be that skinny anyway??

I eat plenty and get sick much less often then most of my classmates. In fact, I have a great immune system, and my skininess does not affect it. So high metabolism does not mean you are anorexic. I am anything but anorexic, so stop taunting skinny people too.

They are called "pro-ana sites". For pro-anorexia. Why is it that just because a girl is thin people think she's unhealthy? I'm 5'5 and finally got my weight back up to 115. I eat all the time, but my metabolism is just so high that if I'm not careful to get enough protein in my diet I actually lose weight (very quickly). Please don't assume that just because a girl is small that she's anorexic or something. There's nothing wrong with being petite. Yes, some of the models in the video that are much too thin in the real pics, but not all of them
I remember one of my sister's best friend almost died of Anorexia when she was only fifteen and I remember back in seventh grade I always got made fun of because I was skinny and this boy always called me Anorexic and I wasn't and soon after that it seemed like I went into depression but it turned out I was just depressed :'(

CLEARLY the fake photos were not sought after by advertising companies. When is the last time you passed a billboard with a model that looks that dramatically emaciated? The fake photos are part of a campaign for anorexia awareness. Really look at some of the before pictures; I'm not saying that eating disorders aren't a problem in the modeling world but a lot of these models look healthy and toned, albeit naturally thin.

@maeflower09 My best friend eats all the time but her body is very slim and lean. She has a very small frame and you can see her collarbone and some near her chest. She eats healthy meals and doesn't exercise too often. Some of these women were probably made with smaller frames, just as some women are born with wider hips/large breasts. Some of these women weren't too skinny, like the lady boxing, she had lean muscle and was very fit.
I think those pictures are the other way around, because you would have some bone showing if you were that skinny. And yes, it's reality, deal with it, whether you like it or not.

My sister had anorexia and she's only 14 years old now, once she went to a party.. and drank a little bit of beer, we had to send her to the hospital and the doctor told my mom and I, there was nothing in her stomach... and he tought that my sis didn't eat for 3 days... :( and now when she did it, only eats one apple or one banana.. how can I help her?!
A girl at my school died on the 26th march 2010 from anorexia. she was diagnosed two years ago and lost the battle. she is sadly missed :'( i blame it on the media.

CLEARLY the fake photos were not sought after by advertising companies. When is the last time you passed a billboard with a model that looks that dramatically emaciated? The fake photos are part of a campaign for anorexia awareness. Really look at some of the before pictures; I'm not saying that eating disorders aren't a problem in the modeling world but a lot of these models look healthy and toned, albeit naturally thin.
Come on, calm down and get a grip.

@maeflower09 My best friend eats all the time but her body is very slim and lean. She has a very small frame and you can see her collarbone and some near her chest. She eats healthy meals and doesn't exercise too often. Some of these women were probably made with smaller frames, just as some women are born with wider hips/large breasts. Some of these women weren't too skinny, like the lady boxing, she had lean muscle and was very fit.

Wow. Is this real? So I assume the after pics are the ones that were bought by the customer/company.
A lot of commenters are surprised that these girls think they look better or more attractive this way. But the models don't look like this. This starving to death effect is done by the photographers or advertising reps. I don't know why unless thry're trying to raise money for the needy.

My sister had anorexia and she's only 14 years old now, once she went to a party.. and drank a little bit of beer, we had to send her to the hospital and the doctor told my mom and I, there was nothing in her stomach... and he tought that my sis didn't eat for 3 days... :( and now when she did it, only eats one apple or one banana.. how can I help her?!

A girl at my school died on the 26th march 2010 from anorexia. she was diagnosed two years ago and lost the battle. she is sadly missed :'( i blame it on the media.
