Can nobody help this man? Aren't there any pro-bono doctors who can remove this terrible growth from his face? This is just shocking. Humanity has all the wrong priorities -- we can build nuclear weapons that could kill the whole world, but we can't come up with the technology to cure this poor man???

@angienoahpeter - yes, thank you, I looked into it some more and found the inspiring story of how he is getting better. I STILL think we spend too much money on weapons and not enough on healing people, but you're right, this man's story seems to be turning out happily.

@MarionCap Many people attempted to help this man. He turned them down. He claimed he couldn't have surgery because of his religious beliefs, even though he doesn't attent any church, and his siblings who look after him aren't Jehovas Witnesses. In fact, doctors, for free, went so far out of their way to help this guy they invented a procedure whereby they could use new technology to remove the growth while minimising bleeding, thus requiring no blood transfusion. Blame idiotic superstition.

@ilyank he didnt deny it his mother denied them u can watch tlc the man who lost his face and it says he finally said yes and went to chicago and got it removed. His mother said it was against HER beliefs

@MarionCap Jose and his family went to chicago were they removed the tumor. and he survived the surgery and i felt so good to see how happy he was when it was gone u can see it on tlc called the man who lost his face

Yes, I was, but it could be removed much more earlier but this man is Jehovist and he refused the operation because of blood transfusion so one wated to operate him but in Great Britain he wound a doctor who decided to help him and that tumor was removed by small parts. But it it would be easier what that man give up his religion as many others.

Bom Dia. Eu lembro-me de ver este senhor no Rossio e penso tambem num autocarro que costumava apanhar. Mas vi de certeza no Rossio. Fez-me pena ver o estado da cara do senhor, mas nessa altura , na cara, ele tinha menos é o que lembro (é vago pois olhei para o senhor de passagem). Nunca pensei que piorasse assim aliás desconhecia que fosse uma doença, mas sim um problema de nascença. Ainda bem que removeu, pois pode fazer certas coisas com mais facilidade.
