He Jumped to add additional damage to his Super Arts Combo, without it he probly would of been finished off by J.Wong. Also to the guy below who asked if the person could attack him while jump kicking, No the other player couldn't attack for half a second, becouse of the attack happening right after the parry. What a parry dose is open up your opponent for 1 attack essentialy in this case it opened it up for a combo. Bow down to DAIGO :)

He had to jump for the HK (or MK I couldn't tell) to do some extended damage with the combo. If he didn't, then the other guy might still be alive and could finish him off easily since he had no health.
