"Owned"...what a completely shallow statement. She handled the academies screw up with grace and poise. But really the conductor realized their mistake and pulled back the music a little to let her speak , but she was already walking away. Thank god for John Stewart who apparently saw what happened and stood up for what was appropriate, allowing Marketa to speak what was probably one of the most eloquent Oscar speeches ever. "Fair play to those who dare to dream."

The Swell Season was the original Once soundtrack with a few cuts they did for Beauty In Trouble (or at least some of them were used in that film)

Glen and Marketa just appeared on an Irish television talk show (on Saturday March 1st). Marketa said during the interview that in the event of them winning she had asked Glen to do a speech and then she would just say thank you at the end. Backstage at the Oscars she was approached and invited to go back out on stage to do a speech. Ireland had the pleasure of hearing an acoustic version of Falling Slowly that they performed live tonight on Irish tv just with a guitar and it was just beautiful.
