It is generally a group effort. Everyone carries a crash pad and then helps to spot the climbers. The greatest thing for me is I can go and do things alone when no else can go. I enjoy climbing alone and I used to some long unroped solo climbs. I'm down to a couple of those a year. Some of the boulder problems are high enough to kill you or damage you for life. My friend today was doing first ascents 35 feet high on big nobs. Nothing I could do. I will have a new video in a few days.

Dad's basically right. If you believe you can't and don't try you always fail. But, trying even when you know you can't make it and succeeding is a breakthrough.
Since I started working on those climbs I had two heart surgeries and year of recovery. I finally started climbing again seriously last summer. I'm never going to be as strong I Once was but I may be as strong once as I ever was. Thanks for the good words. -- ghd

LOVEd IT!! At 46 and bouldering for 5 years it does my heart good to see it and helps me to keep on climbing
