This is a graph theory problem, and I'm persuaded by his logical proof. However, just to be sure, I made a program to exhaustively search through all of the possible ways to do this puzzle (~40 million, if we relax the restrictions and allow the path to self-intersect), and as predicted, it was unable to find any solutions.
i think he has actually found a soloutiion to this puzzle, nowhere in the ruls does it state that the boxes cant be split up like has them at .57seconds meaning you wouldnt be crossing the same line twice??
@ podolot90 I also finished the puzzle, but then I got out a marker and wrote down the "solution" and THEN took a fist to the face(my own) because I realized something lololol
Well in theory the quiz is meant to be impossible, therefor you cannot solve it. The problem was not solved. The problem is a sucess regardless of what happens because you are still doing as it is intended to do for its initial problem.
lmfao i hope u know that u cant cut through an intersection or a corner. U have to cross each line segments but not at its vertex or end point. Obviously if you were able to do that it is easy as fck. but yuo dumassses who think your so smart "omg ur so stupid i finish this in my first try,"
"This is so easy i didnt it 20 seconds" stop trollin noob make a video of your own and show it, if not stfu
Wait at first I thought it was possible if you 'follow' a line, but then that means you intersect it more than once (infinitely many times), so it is impossible.
As a kid, my dad told me about this puzzle. He said he found it in a "Ripley's Believe it or Not" magazine or book when he was a kid himself (1950's). He claimed there was indeed a solution to this in the book, but unfortunately, he could not remember what it was. I tried it for years before I conceded that there was, in fact, no solution possible without breaking a rule or two. Interesting though. :)
@EverythingIAdore No... Every line segment. Each line segment represents a wall, and there is 1 door on every wall. You need to go through each door once. Not over every line once. Hope yall understand it now :|
@popsclub Because the original puzzle is with bridges this is just a simplified version, this isn't some puzzle some stupid kid came up with, it is a really old and well known puzzle, and if you didn't knew that you are just stupid. Now if you can come up with a logical way that you can cross 2 bridges at the same time, only then I'll take back what I said.
@AlquimistEd well then I didn't know about the bridges I just learned about this thing about 4 weeks ago and the person who showed me said nothing of bridges. So I am not Stupid I was badly inform. let me ask you This would you say that crossing the corners is crosses both lines at once or would you not count it. I want you opinion you don't have to be rude.
well there is a way to solve it, its just not possible in plain sight...
think outside the box... dont think too literal...
if you use paper, you can always puncture the paper and use the other side. you did not break any rules, since the back side is one whole shape, with no line segments. theoretically the solution can be done like that.
i got 50 euros at school for the solution i just yelled that there wasnt any solution, Teacher was smiling when he gave me the 50 euros :) good times first class of high school
This is copletely possible because there's only 8 lines . Just because there's a perpindicular line to it , doesn't make it 2 seperate lines . so you only have to go thru the outside lines 1 x each , not twice . and the same 4 tha middle . which means its possible . just a thouht tho.
Hi, This puzzle is not impossible to solve it took me about 21 years to work out and you are going about it all wrong. I have had best part of the Royal Navy doing it for years, and have seen all the answers, what you should do is sit and listen to what you say and not what you do, and you will very soon come up with the answer. And by the way, you finish on the top row middle piece, I have, just shown my wife and she laughed at how easy it. Keep trying,
@MrBucktus You are completely right. It also took me about 10 years to solve. I am not going to give the answer away that easily. Here is a clue. 1# Read the Rules of the game again. 2#Think Inside the Box, not Outside. 3# The answer lies within the Puzzel...I have been facinated by puzzels since childhood, and have solved every puzzel presented to me, from all Rubiks Cubes Shapes to everything else in between. This one has been by far and away the hardest puzzel I have ever done.
@philippines1987 HEY I HAVE THE SOLUTION if you intersect the corner of these lines. (if you intersect a corner you will intersect the two line from which this corner is created)Two lines meet at the corner point of the figure.IT Is not impossible
HEY I HAVE THE SOLUTION if you intersect the corner of these lines. (if you intersect a corner you will intersect the two line from which this corner is created)Two lines meet at the corner point of the figure.IT Is not impossible
@RUL1S88 they don't have a thickness at all in mathematics, but we must give them a thickness on paper so we can observe them, although their real thickness is still 0
why more than 80% of all the people don't show up in history books? because they didnt told us logical things such as math. you: when an opinion has more than 50% of the votes, that opinion is the truth. your theory won't be in the history books because: it's an opinion you're talking about. that lines are only in 1D so they don't have a thickness. this is a fact proven by one of the 20% intellegent people. the 80% like yourself should stop talking crap and leave the thinking to the 20%
Of course 1D lines have no thickness, but in our universe such lines doesn't even exist. Author of this video haven't said that you can only use mathematical 1D lines for this puzzle.
lay the pen down on the paper and without lifting the pen roll it across the boxes. One line crosses all areas once. simple as that. Unless u get someone to start changing the rules of the game. This was my answer after staring at the puzzle for like 2 minutes.
But.. it's not. Show a video or a solution. Don't you think if it was possible, someone in the world would have solved it? Math geniuses have tried to solve this with no luck. It is impossible.
Actually this puzzle has solution. Nothing is restraining you from going through a corner. And since the corner is a point that belongs to a segment while simoultaneously being part of another segment, you cross two lines in one shot. Try going through corners and you will solve this unsovable puzzle.
start from A left,go to B down-right,then to E left, to D up left(don't hit the first line you draw) then to A up,to B up, to B right,to E right, to E down,to D down to C right, to C down, to C left, to C up,and the final to A left.
