Can someone tell me why is there a 1098 and a 1198? With only a 100cc difference why make a completely different model? Not that i dont love Ducatis. They are awesome. Just alittle confused
@MaxPayne19146 ducati is a racer bike, mostly for track (obviously you know this) and with winning times and 2nd place times with less than 0.0002 of a second difference, the 100cc can make that difference.
@hazemvirus same tho, i have CBR 600 i use it around summer and havent been riding that thing since November cuz of the snow so i wonder how much it will cost to insure this Ducati. hopefully in future we both can afford to get one

@Truthalive7 thanks a bunch Truth! I honestly did not know pucks did that. I've actually never seen pucks spark. I always assumed they were non-sparking/conductive. Well now...when I get that 1198 I'll be sure to try and spark my pucks :) thanks again for the reply dude...
beatiful. i keep coming back to this video as there is still nothing from ducati featuring an SP on the track. i'm getting an SP this year. just wondering...for all the veteran superbike riders who have seen this vid i've got a bit of a newbie question. i've been riding for 2 years and i've never seen sparks fly from taking a corner on a track day. what part of the bike was dragging to make sparks? was it the foot pegs? was that intentional or are the pegs too long? opinions please?...

The 1198, how does it get any better?...

A 2 cylinder engine produces much different power, good for tyre wearing, have different torque (wider rpm), better after the curve on gaining speed etc... @hrvat90 I think, if somebody avoided the facts is you! The Ducati have more sbk titles, like the other brands together!!! The Ferrari? Schumi's Ferrari worked a year without a single technical failure, that's a record in F1 for 1000 years. The reliable mercedes burnt on the trackside every 2nd race... what are you talking about??? And before the Alfa Romeo left officially the etcc/wtcc, they nuked the bmw anytime!!! Finally:the 2cylinder bikes produces less hp, that's normal wise guy!!!

And one more thing, the bmw f1 engine was a turbo charged one with ca.12000 top rpm, not a hard work to keep it reliable. The Ferrari did it with NA aspirated engine at 20000 top rpm. Do not compare those engines! And please keep in sight, this is a video about a Duc, why don't you go to spread your knowledge by a bmw video? Just for peace...

@hrvat90 Ferrari, Ducati, Alfa etc.. they was banned with the new rules: against Ferrari: new tyre change rules, and this new rule "kicked" back on the Indy racetrack because the shit Michelins..
Ducati: when the 4 cylinders went 1000ccm . (some other brands had 1000ccm 2 cyl. machines too, but only Duc used that kind of engine for long long years.
Alfa 155 V6ti: Nuked the whole DTM with the 16000rpm v6 na engine, next year max rev limited. After some italian wins, rules changed.

Anyway, we can write thousands of proofs, in different point of view, but the fact is, you will never love italian technology, and i will never love the germans at all.... its a wasting of time to continue this, leads nowhere. I love Ducati, and i always will! If not italian, i'll take only a japanese and only a Yamaha. Amen.

@hrvat90 Now we have the proof, you are a big big bike expert. It seems, you think, hp=win. Not quite! A 2 cylinder engine produces much different power, good for tyre wearing, have different torque (wider rpm), better after the curve on gaining speed etc... The 4 cylinder SBK bikes was always stronger in hp, like the Duc, and the Ducati won the races. Pasta is a very good thing. Ducati detto! Built like tank? Then beware the T34. Wasn't german, but killed them all! Arrivederci! Duc is king!
