  • it wa about time that vray makes a RT, modo has it, lightwave core or 10 has it, final render has it, maxwell has it; RT is just in today; you gotta have it. In one year it will be a standard for 3d apps. mentalray will make one for sure which will come with 3ds max package

  • nice vid! is there a way to speed up realtime render? and make quiality better?

  • i want realtime raytraced games! :) who doesnt...

  • Can you say us whats specifications of this machine you use? I mean, Video card, processor, memory...

ATI suports this software? Or just nVidia becouse of Cuda?

  • @Avallansh That machine had a Quadro 3500 and 8 GB. But CUDA and the video card are not part of it, Vray RT is PURELY CPU.

  • @jpl1040

So, what cpu are you using? Vray RT use instructions SSE? (if yes, so intel is better for it, but if it dont, so AMD Ph II X4 9xx maybe work great)

  • @Avallansh It's a dual quad core Xeon 2.66 GHz. It's the 5400 series Xeons. Not sure about SSE.

  • Hope that they make great improvements of this technology...But i am wondering how will this real time render find its place next to the cpu render? will it only be a instant thing for the work area ,or will it be used as it will help out the whole process of rendering....If anybody knows that,an explaination would be greatfully appriciated...

  • not a great machine is necessary, for instance,i personally tested cuda power with my 8800 gt and got a close performance with free testers which you can download from nvidia's cuda/graphics section....So this is the real power of gpu for rendering real time, but unfortunately nvidia and plugin/software developer still working and the progress is so primitive...

  • JEALOUS!!!!!!!

  • do u use GPU to render? cause its fast its almost real time..!

  • @cyther39

    yep thats the whole idea.

  • yea explain how u hooked em up!!!

  • How did you hook up all 7 computers to work together as one. I do video editing and this would greatly increase my productivity. (Rendering)

  • 56 cores.. no wonder :P

    jeesh. still very impressive though.

  • You must have a great machine.
