  • Truth about this guitar is that its great, BUT it goes out of tune like a $50 guitar out of wal-mart so hope your ready to mod it. and the Pickups are good for Playing frets 1-7 and it will still go out of tune , not much sustain like a Full American PRS , the guitar does not have a good tone 12-24 horrible sustain. so only thing to change if you buy this is the Stock Pickups and Tuners. I have one and have 3 gigs in march and can't use this at all, having to use a telecaster

  • @prsguitars Really nice. When you said the body is half carved, does that mean that the regular custom 24 is more deeply carved? How noticeable is the difference between this and the regular custom 24 in terms of the neck and body?

  • I can see the guy who's talking is getting so pissed that the guitarist doesn't shut up when he's supposed to.

  • @7poppasmurf7 you mean Paul Reed Smith? how can you not know who he is?

  • @CJSchecter96 well, see, I didn't know he was paul reed smith because I don't study important guitar figures. I fucking play guitar. You think I know what Orville Gibson looks like? You think if I saw Les Paul playing a les pual, I'd know it were him? All I know is, the guy on the right just keeps playing when the guy on the left is trying to talk, and that's fucking annoying.

  • @7poppasmurf7 sorry i offended you geez. i play guitar too and when you really like a company you tend to know a little something about them

  • Great sound! How much will it cost?

  • Most guitar retailers are saying this will come out around April. I pre-ordered mine at SamAsh.

  • @CastorThePorcupine ohh thats nice just around the corner!!!.. thax bro!!

  • when will they arrive?...does some1 have any idea?...

  • Sweet guitar, make sure to have a valve amp for this guitar to unleash the beautiful sound.

  • When will this be available? Looks like this could be my next guitar!

  • Thanks Paul. i was thinking about getting a PRS Santana SE,but now I can't wait to play one of these!! When is it due out? Soon I hope.

  • I love my natural se singlecut its flawless. Hopefully one day ill be able to afford a American made prs but until then ill just have to pick up this beauty. I want it!!

  • When will the guitar be available? I really want this guitar!

  • I would also like to know when this guitar will be available. I want one ASAP.

  • Does anyone know when the SE Custom 24 will be available and what the cost will be?? Glad I waited!!!!

  • When is this going to be available? Thanks! More Power!!!

  • I'm blown away that that is an SE!

  • LOVING the coil tap.

Most 'in-between' settings on a blade switch are a few coils together but finally PRS does it the way I want! Just single coils!

  • HOLY SHIT BEST SE CUSTOM! EVER!!! Now that it has Carve, coil tap!~ those were the two features keeping me form buying one.... DO WANT!!!!

  • Standard guitar concept – USA made, 24-fret non-bound neck, CU24 body style but 20-percent thicker, ebony fret board, stainless steel frets, Peruvian Mahogany neck, Standard CU24 neck size with slightly higher fret board radius, Santana III gold covered pickups, standard PRS Tremolo, covered PRS named Phase II locking tuners, original full bird inlays, pre-V12 harder polyurethane finish (go to Guitar Center and see how poorly the V12 finish holds up) with high-gloss sunburst flame maple top.

  • i use an SE custom 22 (older model) and it sounds fantastic!!! though I wouldn't mind an SC245 or 58... but for now, i'm VERY satisfied w/ my PRS SE Custom 22... though I could use the extra 2 frets...

  • I bought myself a Prs se custom 24 in august in the tobacco sunburst with the bird inlays and i am now seeing this and thinking if my guitar is gonna be of some value since its the very first Prs Se to have the signature bird inlays and now the new ones are switching off the the 3 way slide switch and coil tapping.

  • At last the body is not flat anymore! =)

  • Nice finish and I love the solid birds. Great picking technique.

  • Already have one on order!!! I'm getting the whale blue one though...........

  • Ok if you say so. Not sure why then Paul Reed Smith has to tell him then.. If he know those guys are that is.. Just say'n.

  • @prsguitars the only thing that i don't like is the 3 way fender style switch...

  • Wow, this means i could coil tap my current PRS SE CU24(25thAnn) with stock pups???

  • Swap out the pickups for something clearer and you have a killer guitar for an easy price.

    I want one of these.

  • I understand that geneious... But the session guitarist has no idea who Opeth is I promise you that. You think that I don't know that Paul Reed doesn't know a artist that he endorses? Really?

  • @dbenc Mike definitely knows the Opeth guys! Mike, Opeth and many other bands played Experience PRS this past September. Mike Ault is a Experience veteran and an amazing player. Opeth played their first Experience PRS show and blew the roof off the place. It was awesome.

  • @prsguitars Is there a release date in the uk please?

  • Great looking guitar. Not very keen on that odd, fuzzy tone. Sounds almost like a solid state fuzz tone... Not keen on that!

  • dam i went on your site only saw 2 colors hope you will make this guitar available in orange because i dont want to go for the previosu se's with flat top

  • I love how Paul references Opeth to the session guy like he knows who they are!

  • @dbenc Fredrik Akesson and Mikael Akerfeldt both have a PRS SE Signature model... So with two signature models for Opeth members, you bet Paul knows who they are.

  • I need to cut more grass if im gonna have to get one of these and the new se angelus!

  • No reason to buy an US-model, I think. This one is great! And guys, Korea isn't China. Everyone who was there knows what I am talking about. And everyone who has a Custom24 from the US (like me) should be realizing that this new SE model is awesome! I will get one, for sure.

  • PAUL WHAT ARE YOU THINKING!!! I sold all of my Gibson and Fender guitars to go exclusively PRS for the same reason you'er doing on the foreign made SE line. I hate Gibson for what they did on the Epiphone line, and I hate Fender for the same reason. GUITARS MADE IN THE USA MEANS EVERYTHING to me -- stop pimping yourself out like this!!!!!! :-(

  • @JonMcCulloughBand

That is flat out silly. The US line of PRS is still made in the US. In this economy the SE line is probably a core reason that PRS isn't dangling over the out of business bowl.

That a company has an overseas line means nothing to the quality of their high end products....in fact the overseas line can give breathing room to REALLY allow great quality US stuff.

  • @ThieleM

I must say, a $600 street price guitar means someone in another country is getting payed nearly nothing while we loose US jobs. I just hate to see something called CU24, Santana SE, Strat or Les Paul EP that sells for $600. I can't understand why you put full birds on the SE's and not on the US made guitars -- it seems reversed to me Paul! In saying this, I own nearly 20 PRS guitars which I truly enjoy.

  • @JonMcCulloughBand

You aren't losing US Jobs. PRS has expanded their factory and hired more americans since they started the SE line.

  • @ThieleM

I also don't like the new open tuners on your higher-end guitars. Just my honest feelings about PRS, which have been building-up for some time now -- probably about the same time I stopped buying new PRS guitars. You can see it in Mike Ault's "body language" -- just not the same as say the P22 Solidbody demo.

  • @JonMcCulloughBand

No kidding, he is playing a 600 dollar guitar.

  • THANK YOU XD. The carved top makes the guitar look WAY more better then the previous ones. XD Im definately buying the dave navarro se model because of this XD Thank you paul!!!

  • The split tones are off the charts. I mean really...put the res on 720 and listen with a pair of head phones...OFF THE CHARTS. Usually when you split a humbucker on a guitar it sounds unconvincing. This thing sounds so down and dirty, I love it!

  • I love the model, its great. But i have mixed emotions about the slimmer gap between US made and the SE models. Why would people pay 4 times the price? and as a PRS Maryland made owner, i dont like to see less diferences... well see.

  • @jaavilag80 at the studio we have both US and SE models (and even a Private Stock). And if the SE models are GREAT and the best bang for the buck, there's still a lot of differences between SE and US models.

We might not see them on YouTube video but there are differences. Birds aren't the same, woods aren't the same, tones are different... SE Models are still superior than most of the US guitars made by other manufacture thought... :)

  • I'm sorry but the blade switch really cheapens the look of the instrument. They discontinued putting the 5-way rotary knob on the american made PRS, why not at least put them on the SE's.

  • @solacematt exactly. i don't like the blade switch neither

  • I was asking for a Blade Switch on all models 20 years ago.... Why did it take so long?

  • A phenomenal player with a great guitar; it's hard to tell whether Mike makes the guitar sound great or vice versa. Probably a little of both.

  • Finally,a carved top se,why didnt they make em last year.

  • we have done a lot of little updates to make the difference: This is are the words of a guitar genius!! you have done a great job:)

  • that little riff at 2:23 reminds me of "Revelations" by Ion Maiden :)

  • Cool... you did it! A carved top! Sweet!

  • wow beautiful guitar!!! sounds amazing. great tones and clarity and its from an SE!

  • it's fantastic! love PRS guitars!

  • Butter Tone!
