  • Bridge? Nailed it. Can't say that for most people who cover this song.

  • one thing about the rain. it really helps sort of wash away the depression of the futility of humankind. when I drove the cab in NYC it was those rainy nights, it shined the streets right up and turned the traffic lights into a show. so if u think it's going to rain, just remember. 2rain are better than 1.

  • Beautiful! But I wish she'd put down that wire.

  • good job

  • I am not familiar with this singer but she sings this song beautifully!

  • Her name is Barbara Dickson she is from Scotland she is a folk, semi - classical singer also she is know to sing other Genres She has been in the Musical Chess and Evita.

  • Too mannered for me. But what a voice!

  • kenrew.

1987, Barbara sang this during her performance at the Royal Albert hall.

My wife and I had bad seats right at the back,

but still came out thinking we had seen and heard a truly special singer.

    Smashing song, beautifully performed.

  • Randy Newman is such a talented writer and when you have someone interpreting his material as well as Barbara does, it's just fantastic.
