How did I increased torrent's download speed?

i currently download 3 torrents which is 1.2gb and 2 are Downloading at 212.3kb and 1 is downloading at a painfully slow rate of 40-60kb due to the seeds any way i can help boost seeds? thanks inadvance

P.S. The main thing that could speed up torrent download is port forwarding. For other tricks I can't be 100% sure.

i now can download with ONLY utorrent program at 13GB in 2 days, ADSL is 1Mbps, this tricks is get a hub, at least 2 lan card, 1 ADSL line, 4GB of Ram, 2x 200GB HDD, run Win2000, surge protection, disable all antivirus. Even some torrent without seed also can be download fairly quickly.

I'm commentating my personal opinion no need to start flaming like a 12 year old.

I was searching for a special advanced function on uTorrent that I had heard of, but to my dismay found a whole series of really bad videos. This one might be an exception, but it's still linking to other videos that are giving out wrong info.

I'm surprised how many people are having trouble, well to your luck uTorrent has their own specialized forum with indepth guides on how to tweak your settings.

Port forwarding is only the simpler of tasks you need to tackle to set it up.

Updating your TCPIP.sys service is important to enhance half open connections. Without doing that and following these guides, which all tell you under "advanced" to increase the max half open connections allowed to 66, you're pretty much damaging your speed.

Sorry that you all feel so offended, I'm not going to nitpick these videos anymore, but please Starbit64 don't tell ppl you are the "KNOWHOW" when you're not.

Funny how many kiddy videos I've found on youtube trying to "explain" how to increase speed.

I bet 90% of the users who made these videos have no idea what they are doing. I bet you don't understand the difference between Mbps and MBps or what half-open ports are and why you need to configure XP SP2 or vista on that matter.

It doesn't really matter. It matters where are your seeders and leachers. So yes, do this hack.

Sometimes your download speed won't be so high. It's because your distance from the leachers and seeders. So it's relevant where you are. But hey....Igot this and I am from Croatia!

Port numbers can be many. It doesn't really care which you choose. Do EXACTLY AS in the video, an you should get resaukts. But be patient...resaults make difference afrer minute or two.

This so called low download speeds are so "low" because I am from Croatia so I download from servers that are couple of thousands kilometers away from me. If you use this settings, and if you are living in western Europe or America you should get a lot more than 200Kb/s.

I am using 2Mb/s connection.

The point is that you change routers rules for your router, so it works like a part of a LAN network, not as a router connected to the internet.
