The XBOX 360 sales were not great at all, 1.5 million vs 4.5 million, that is a 3:1 split, very abnormal for a large multiplatform game, at this rate you may aswell be arguing why it wasn't on the Wii aswell, it probably would have picked up more sales for christ sake. Taking into account the hardware limitations, alterations to the game such as Westernization and extended development time and fans lost etc, the port wasn't beneficial to Square Enix or fans of the game.
@brendude95 I have many friends who are Square Enix fans who were unfortunate enough to get an Xbox 360 for Christmas, Eid or Hannukah etc.
You have to remember about where the fan bases majority are, most PS3 users are Japanese and FF series is Japanese gaming culture. And the Wii's hardware limitations are far too much.
FYI, the DVD capacity was overcome, FF13 had 3 discs for the Xbox 360 edition. That wasn't the issue. I plan to get a PS3 in the near future anyway.
I'm thinking of buying an XBOX 360, just found a 20gb on ebay for £50, that is nothing. I want to play Vesperia and in the end Microsoft doesn't get the money, everyones a winner.
And the Wii's hardware limitations are only because of the graphics, just lowering the quality Square Enix could overcome that, just look at Black Ops on the Wii.
Those 3 discs had to split the game up, it would be too hard to implement backtracking so SE made the last disc free roam.
The game would have been better off being ported to the Wii than the XBOX 360, the main limitations were in the DVD capacity, a Wii port would have been just as easy if they had significantly lowered the resolution and graphics quality, not to mention it would have picked up far more sales.

Also 3:1 profit is not bad considering it is a port and most people play Xbox 360 are American gun addicts.
That is true, but it left a lot of PS3 owners with a sour taste in their mouth, especially after how Microsoft obtained the game (I don't buy it, GTA4, FFXIII, DMC4 all are fishy). Anyway, it's good that they let the XBOX 360 owners have a taste of the first game and hopefully stopped them playing Halo for a while, lets hope that they come back for more when Versus comes out.

It's a shame that this song isnt used in the game's musical score itself (is it? Im not sure, havent got a console to play it yet) but the game's completely awesome and beautiful without it, would've been no harm throwing it in there somewhere.
The great thing about the Final Fantasy franchise is that you don't have to necessarily play the games that come before the other ones to know what's going on. Each new game pretty much comes with a whole new storyline :)

Well there are roughly 10 Japanese ones...the top 2 is a very actiony one (at the start it has the pulse vestige) and that one is amazing and then there is the feel the pulse 30 second one with Kimi Ga Iru Kara which is a drop dead stunning trailer
Unlike the whole franchise of FF that looks quite dark,this game always seemed pinky or girly to me compared to the others FF.and not just because you use a girl as main character because FFVI had a girl too as main and it didnt feel the same to me.
The songs makes me think i was right so yeah,automatically i believe it fits this game.
if they made me choose between Leona and Utada Hikaru(KH singer) then i would totally pick Utada. But leona doesnt gives a different feel. its still ok to me.

agreed COMPLETELY! I play FF for the story, and 12's story was lacking in just about every department. I just bought 13, im hoping I at least finish it...if not, im sure 13 versus will be ok, it at least looks like a final fantasy to me.
"My Hands" really works in this commercial, granted this is one of the better parts of the song. Hated the song at first, but it's grown on me. Doesn't excuse Square's efforts though--if you're going to compose a brand new song for the Japanese version, I expect the same for international editions of the game if you're going to change it!
The soundtrack overall is fantastic. Saber's Edge is arguably one of the best pieces of video game music to date. I don't like "My Hands", but I am touched by Square Enix's effort.
I think it's awesome. It doesn't feature as many catchy melodies as say VI or VII. But it is a great soundtrack with some compositions which are downright stunning. I LOVE "Lightning's theme", "Colourless world" and "End of a dream". And of course, the kick arse "Battle theme".
@RandomJtv I love listening to 'Ragnarok'. The Chocobo Themes are pretty cool, too; and that Boss Battle one, with the sweeping part that gets louder and louder.

The XBOX 360 sales were not great at all, 1.5 million vs 4.5 million, that is a 3:1 split, very abnormal for a large multiplatform game, at this rate you may aswell be arguing why it wasn't on the Wii aswell, it probably would have picked up more sales for christ sake. Taking into account the hardware limitations, alterations to the game such as Westernization and extended development time and fans lost etc, the port wasn't beneficial to Square Enix or fans of the game.

@brendude95 I have many friends who are Square Enix fans who were unfortunate enough to get an Xbox 360 for Christmas, Eid or Hannukah etc.
You have to remember about where the fan bases majority are, most PS3 users are Japanese and FF series is Japanese gaming culture. And the Wii's hardware limitations are far too much.
FYI, the DVD capacity was overcome, FF13 had 3 discs for the Xbox 360 edition. That wasn't the issue. I plan to get a PS3 in the near future anyway.

I'm thinking of buying an XBOX 360, just found a 20gb on ebay for £50, that is nothing. I want to play Vesperia and in the end Microsoft doesn't get the money, everyones a winner.
And the Wii's hardware limitations are only because of the graphics, just lowering the quality Square Enix could overcome that, just look at Black Ops on the Wii.
Those 3 discs had to split the game up, it would be too hard to implement backtracking so SE made the last disc free roam.

The game would have been better off being ported to the Wii than the XBOX 360, the main limitations were in the DVD capacity, a Wii port would have been just as easy if they had significantly lowered the resolution and graphics quality, not to mention it would have picked up far more sales.

Also 3:1 profit is not bad considering it is a port and most people play Xbox 360 are American gun addicts.

That is true, but it left a lot of PS3 owners with a sour taste in their mouth, especially after how Microsoft obtained the game (I don't buy it, GTA4, FFXIII, DMC4 all are fishy). Anyway, it's good that they let the XBOX 360 owners have a taste of the first game and hopefully stopped them playing Halo for a while, lets hope that they come back for more when Versus comes out.

Without the Xbox 360, PS3 would be the ONLY viable console in the gaming market giving them a monopoly; seeing as monopolys are illegal with economic law in the present day, PS3 would not exist and Xbox would not exist either. They need each other to exist.

Final Fantasy is as good as it has always been...it breaks the tradition and thats a good thing...because by 10 i started to turn of FF because of how similar all the games felt...

The great thing about the Final Fantasy franchise is that you don't have to necessarily play the games that come before the other ones to know what's going on. Each new game pretty much comes with a whole new storyline :)

Well there are roughly 10 Japanese ones...the top 2 is a very actiony one (at the start it has the pulse vestige) and that one is amazing and then there is the feel the pulse 30 second one with Kimi Ga Iru Kara which is a drop dead stunning trailer

Unlike the whole franchise of FF that looks quite dark,this game always seemed pinky or girly to me compared to the others FF.and not just because you use a girl as main character because FFVI had a girl too as main and it didnt feel the same to me.
The songs makes me think i was right so yeah,automatically i believe it fits this game.
if they made me choose between Leona and Utada Hikaru(KH singer) then i would totally pick Utada. But leona doesnt gives a different feel. its still ok to me.

"My Hands" really works in this commercial, granted this is one of the better parts of the song. Hated the song at first, but it's grown on me. Doesn't excuse Square's efforts though--if you're going to compose a brand new song for the Japanese version, I expect the same for international editions of the game if you're going to change it!

The soundtrack overall is fantastic. Saber's Edge is arguably one of the best pieces of video game music to date. I don't like "My Hands", but I am touched by Square Enix's effort.

I think it's awesome. It doesn't feature as many catchy melodies as say VI or VII. But it is a great soundtrack with some compositions which are downright stunning. I LOVE "Lightning's theme", "Colourless world" and "End of a dream". And of course, the kick arse "Battle theme".
