@Naturepheonix - luckylucie is correct, Not sure why you thing you head "those still wounded" I retired from the US Air Force and appreciate this video, however, even though it is pointed at the US forces, this song can and does apply to other forces in the world defending their right to freedom. I sincerely hope that nobody feel slighted, disrespected or anything else of this posting. Let's just thank all those who step into harms way to protect our way of life>
To all men and women serving or who have served in the Armed Forces, are my Heroes, thanks for defending our Country and our freedom. To my two son serving thank you and I am proud of all of you..
Ufff, y cried with this video, and Im not american, but Im proud of all US Armed Forces mens and womens, specialy of those who gave him lives to preservate the peace on the world. Im never had the honor of meet to anyone who serve US Armed Forces, but Im proud of ALL they.
I agree with prcacowboy 100%! I think he and I could be friends. This vid brought so much pride to me and my heroes, The U.S. Military, I almost broke down. God bless each and everyone of you. I promise you WILL NOT be forgotten!!!
Thank you for this wonderful video. I love this country and the brave people who fight for our freedom. This video reminded me to be greatful and appreciate all that we have. Thanks again to our US Military. jGod bless our soldiers and their families.
I just wanna say that I always have and always will respect and honor those have served, are serving or are to serve in the Future. This is what helped make our country so great. I know that it is hard to see that sometimes, with all of the government corruption and economic crisis, but if it weren't for those few brave souls, we wouldn't be able to vote for our leader. So next time anyone who is reading this comment complains about how much this country sucks, remember it could be a lot worse.
What is important to remember is that the USA does not have a military draft. It is composed of all men and women who volunteer to serve and, if necessary, fight for and even die for our American way of life. To them and their posterity, we owe the Blessings of Liberty. May God watch over them.
I didn't know this melody had lyrics! As an enlisted Vietnam Combat Vet' and later a commissioned officer, I appreciate your tribute to the Soldier, Sailor, Airman and Marine. As for the 91 who didn't/don't like this tribute, well, they're the ones Gen. Patton said would tell their grandchildren they "shoveled $hit in Louisiana". That's about all cowards are worth anyway. Thanks again for a fine tribute.
This is a beautiful tribute to our troops. May God bless them and all who have put their lives in harm's way or made the ultimate sacrifice. If not for them, we would not have the freedoms that we do. It is easy to take these rights for granted when most of us have never had to experience what life would be like without them. We are so blessed to live in this country!
How can 85 people dislike this???? Move to another country if you do appreciate these great men & women who are TRUE & REAL HEROES! GOD BLESS AMERICA!
To all the men and women who have served our country, to their families for their sacrifices and to the families of those heroes that never returned, Thank you and GOD BLESS YOU ALL..
I recognize this tune as the theme from Dances with Wolves (played w/o lyrics). does anyone know if the origin of the song? Were the lyrics always part of this or was the tune re-purposed for the military
@poeticlargess The song was composed by John Barry, and is called "John Dunbar." The song was written for the 1997 movie release of "Dances With Wolves" and the lyrics were never part of this song. These lyrics were inspired after 9/11. Hope this helps :-)
You did a wonderful job putting this video together. I appreciate that you care enough to thank the servicemen and women by putting this video as a tribute to their service to country. You have my gratitude. Thank you.
Thanks for posting. It seems that the U.S. Armed Forces get little attention. The people who are willing to risk it all, limb and life, for their countires, no matter what their race, ethinticity, or belifes are, should be honoured more thoroughly. Thanks, again, for posting this.
We sang this at our Choir concert. Our Choir teacher was so mad at us because we wouldn't stay quiet to practice. Our first two songs weren't that good but then we sang this and had soldiers and veterans come out and stand beside their family members. Let's just say, at the end there wasn't a single dry eye in the whole place.
God bless america and our soldiers. We wouldn't have freedom if it wasn't for you. : )
@Naturepheonix I'm not sure what you mean by some lyrics being wrong. I used the exact lyrics taken from the CD jacket of Here's to the Heroes by The Ten Tenors. I guess if they are wrong it would be an error on the part of whomever put the CD jacket together. I am definitely glad you enjoyed the video though! Thank you for watching and for commenting!
@Naturepheonix I still don't know where you are getting your information from. If you listen to the song, they are singing "Those few who dare". If you don't believe those should be the right lyrics, you are welcome to bring it to their attention. I have no control over that. But again, thank you for taking the time to listen and watch my video! :)
@luckylucie I just listened to it and they are definitely singing "Those few who dare". Great video and song. Thanks for posting it. God bless all the men and women who serve that we might have freedom.
Australians are fighting and dying in Afghanistan too. For a small population we are well represented by the cream of our soldiers - the SAS. They die alongside allies and we bring them home.
Good song but disrespecful at the start. A tribute to the US Military. Theres not just US soldiers in the world. British soldiers in afghanistan. Think about that one mate.
@ShikamaruNara6 Even though I deeply admire and appreciate soldiers from ALL countries who are willing to put their lives on the line in the defense of freedom, this video wasn't meant to be about them. I'm sure there are tribute videos to the British Military that don't include the US Military as well. There is nothing disrespectful about that.
@luckylucie Beautiful presentation. WE are America! WE love her, have pride in it! OUR troops leave their families to fight and protect our country, and join hands with other countries to establish peace. God bless America and our troops.
@ShikamaruNara6 I have a veteran brother of mine who happens to be an aussie. WE have spent many nights getting drunk and I know for a fact that he does not believe this song to be disrespectful. There is too much respect among veterans of same war and all other wars to be concerned with such a minutiae. We admire and respect each other very much.
@ShikamaruNara6 I realize you posted this comment three months ago, but I still felt I should reply.
There is nothing disrespectful at all about this video. Keep in mind it's the United States Military that's doing the "lion's share" of the work. The United States has sent more troops to Iraq and Afghanistan than any other country. You think about that one, mate.
It's almost always the lowest rank and file that make the hardest sacrifices and embody the principles of honor and duty. What do our so-called political leaders do, except vote themselves pay raises, take lobbyist money, treat themselves to lavish vacations, talk out of both sides of their mouths, and pay lip service to the actual deeds of these true heroes? Here's to the Heroes. And thank you for honoring them with this video.
@nooyawkfun Amen. I support my troops because there's two kinds of war in the world today: Man to man, gun to gun, hand to hand, fought with some honor and integrity by men and women who understand the sacrifices and the danger in the world. Then there's mouth to mouth, hand to hand, knife to back... politics are the worst thing to happen to the world... but no one understands that both kill equally, and that really a single word in politics can have many more civilian casualties than a bullet.
Here's to the heroes: Good luck to all of you soldiers around the world, you truly are heroes. "A man has no greater love than to lay down his life for a friend", well this is exactly what you guys do. You earn everyone's respect.
God Bless America, Though I am not American born, I love America. America is the last freedom standing on the globe against all the dictatorship, socialism, which is the transition to communism. America, wake up& be strong, don't ever lose your constitution that was endowed from god. Even all those terrorist countries have one -year -long greencard waiting list come to America, so those who passionately hate America, go to live somewhere in communist country. then u will appreciate & learn
When you listen to this song remember those that complain that America doesn't "give them enough". Everything we enjoy was paid for in the blood of our young men and women. I understand the bonds formed in the service and I admire our troops that want to get back to their buddies in theater even though they have been badly wounded (many having lost limbs) because they don't want to quit. America must not quit on these brave souls - ever.
Sadly, the real heroes were the kids who never came home. Say what you will but our military makes this country the greatest this earth has ever seen!
I hope and pray that everyone has spent some time today remembering our fallen heroes from all wars and saying prayers for all of our deployed troops and their families for the many sacrifices they are making for our freedom!
With this week, Today being USMC Birthday, Tomorrow being Veterans Days. Please take a moment to remember Every one who has served this nation with honor, and everyone that is currently serving this nation!
To all my brothers and sisters. May we all come home safe to our loved ones. And remember all our brothers and sisters that we have lost over the years.
Great video! I think people also need to see this video (even the troops are waking up) on youtube! and so do the troops in your video and around the world as one of there own try's to reach out to people....
I wish all the Troops who are loved by you,me and others could lay down there arms and stop fighting something that can never be won. Grumpy old men start wars & the young/brave has to fight wars.. In the end No one wins & loved ones lose.
@ulzii99 You aren't the first who has pointed this out to me. I placed that picture there for a reason. The soliders in the picture may be resting, yes, but the point I was trying to make is that they aren't sleeping in a nice comfy bed taking a break from their duties. They are still out there, in the middle of a desert, getting what little rest they can where ever they can.
@ulzii99 I don't know if you have notice it but there is a 3rd soldier standing guard, so whenever you R sleeping or resting, someone else will be watching your back. May be you'll never get it but that is how it works.
@ulzii99 While u get to go home from work and take a nice warm bath and sleep in a bed....on somewhat of a daily schedule....in other words at ur own leisure...soldiers in combat do not have that privilege...and yes while theyre resting in the pic they probably were awake for more consecutive hours than you'll ever fathom...nor are they sleeping soundly i can tell u that & their nap will likely last 15-20 minutes at best. Have you ever slept in a war zone? Try not to miss the point next time ;-)
@ulzii99 Speaking from experience in SE Asia in '68-'69, they aren't really sleeping because you're too afraid to sleep. Yes, they are resting before they fall over from exhaustion, but it's not real rest. My heart and my appreciation goes out to all our troops in the 'big sandbox'.
@ulzii99 Having just returned from Afghanistan, I can tell you from 1st hand experience that they are not sleeping. It can be called, at best, a "fitful catnap". You never quite get to sleep. Between the heat, sand and anxiety, would you?
To LuckyLucie...many thanks for the touching video.
@ulzii99 you speak of those soldiers sleeping. As a soldier I must tell you that they are not resting. They will never rest til the battle is over. The eyes can only keep focus after so many hours. so they are sleeping, but resting is hard onthe battle field.
Thank you for the beautiful music. Outstanding voices giving tribute to our armed service members past and present. We have the finest young men and women serving us and all freedom loving persons around the world. Semper Fidelis
OMG i'm lucky enough to be singing this in the help for heroes concert in cambridge next sunday and i've just been given the music ...... i nearly cried, it's so beautiful and powerful!!!
One day I wish to join the royal marine comandos and maybe specialise as a sniper or a medic, and yes thanks to the heros our freedom survives because of them, God bless brothers.
Beautifully done...........inspiring. Most of the people in this country are solidly behind the US military.............for those who are not, you do not deserve or merit the advantages of living in this beautiful country. But for our military, you might now be speaking German or Japanese!
Here to the heroes who do or DIE my god bless this guys and kep you safe!!!!!!!!!MY GOD BLESS THE USA HOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
WOW. This song is incredible. I feel so blessed to live in a country where I am free to worship how I please, own personal property, speak my mind without fear of reprisal and generally pursue happiness. God bless all of our American troops and God bless the United States of America!
They are the chosen the are the best the are the hero of the USA my god bless you and keep you safe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!MY GOOD BLESS THE USA/ARMY COAST GUARD NAVY AIRFORCE.............................. HOOOOOORAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH
The Military personell from Britain, America, France, Germany, Australia, New zeland, Italy, canada, NATO and and anbody else i may have forgtten all do a great job keep it up Guys and girls. :D
These guys are defending our country abroad so we need to defend here on the home front. As Americans we must stand strong here at home so they can be proud of us also !
The Ten Tenors Aussie Guys show the World , that it can come together through Music.Lets not dedicate this just to Soldiers but All Armed Forces, Firemen,Police Officers and Ambulance Officers
the 33 people who dislike this video are anti-americans and are part of the Westboro Baptist "Church". GOD BLESS THE USA AND EVERY SOLDIER, SAILOR, AIRMAN, AND MARINE WHO FIGHT FOR WHAT IS RIGHT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SEMPER FI!!!!!!!! OOHRAH!!!!!!! i cant wait to join the USMC when i turn 18.
As our son (USN Air Crew) leaves this week on humanitarian missions to Pakistan, the Ten Tenors remind us all that the United States has MUCH to be proud of. He has been part of extended miliatry support missions to Haiti and New Orleans, as well. God Bless them all!
No more than pawns on the chess board of Life. It is a shame to see these great men and women of America used by the Political BobbleHeads of this country. May they all be appreciated for what they do. It isn't their fault. One day this will all be sorted out at the Judgement Seat of Jesus Christ. Thank God for that. I appreciate these men and women and what they do for this country. God Bless Them All. I Salute you All. Thank You isn't enough.
I know the U.S is a huge part of these wars in Iraq and Afghanistan but please remember all the Aussie troops in your prayers also..We support you and alot of our guys are getting torn up over there too..Here's to the free world..Thankyou guys and girls..We appreciate what your doing..
This is a wonderful tribute to today's military. As one who served before, it would have been nice to see something like this back then. People like me and those who served before me were looked upon with disdain. Those before me were called "baby killers." Me, I'm a vet, but no one seems to care. Today the military receives the respect people like me didn't, and I served for 5 years over 25 years ago.
@davedoubledeks Yes mate, the Ten Tenors did a whole album of material with John Barry, composer of the score from Dances With Wolves. He also wrote some original material for them. I strongly recommend it!
I have to listen to this tribute at least once a day. Thank you, to my current brothers in arms, who are serving our country in foreign wars right now. The nation can not miss the meaning of " . . . thanks to the heroes freedom survives". Sadly some of us were totally forgotten and insulted. That should never happen again. I am only one but I will never forget who do I owe my freedoms : The veteran of so many foreign wars.
God Bless our Military, and God forgive those who so grossly misunderstand the mission of the US Military. It is probably the greatesf force for good in the world. Every war we have fought in the 20th centrury was because of some opressive regiem or dictator. Our country in the form of our Military is the first to the aid anywhere in the world, to our friends and those we would like to be friends. think about it next time you talk about the military. they are our bravest and best.
AWESOME! God bless the men and women of the United States military! Without them this world would be a very different place. God Bless the families of these wonderful men and women as well. Thank you to the Ten Tenors for their amazing tribute.
Can you believe that 32 people do not like this video "Here's to the Heroes"? They must not be Americans but enemies of our country that don't like facing our heroes. Sincere thanks to each man and woman, veteran, active duty and retired and your families---you have paid for our freedom with your blood and sacrifice.
@vrosan1 Yes I can believe it, why? Because it is the heroes in this video that gave those 32 people the freedom of speech. But they are 32 people that have never faced death and honestly don't know the price of freedom. What can you do about it? Probably nothing, but to pick up my weapon and stand another post in the name of freedom.
Fantastic video. Thank you Ten Tenors, for caring and doing this tribute. You truly know where your freedom comes from. God bless you, God bless our precious troops, and God bless America. May He keep us ever strong and free!
As a German-Canadian, I would like to say thanks to all the allied forces( German,Dutch, France,Danish, Canadians ,USA and others, I may have missed) for their contributions and peace keeping efforts in the wars for freedom
Here's to all of my fellow Marines my fellow American's that fought and died next to me in the first and second Gulf Wars. Here's to all of those that sacrificed their lives to defend and preserve our American freedom through out our country's history. God bless you and Semper Fi!
@todeck Thank you for your service, friend, May God bless you and keep you and your family in peace, may He turn to you and make His face shine upon you. You are our Heroe!
I don't think any soldier (from any country) get's up in the morning with the thought "Yeah today they are going to get it". I think these young men and women is answering a call that is too difficult for all of us to hear. No mother/father/brother/sister/husband/wife is going to leave their families behind because they feel like it. These people are called and thank God they answered.
@Naturepheonix - luckylucie is correct, Not sure why you thing you head "those still wounded" I retired from the US Air Force and appreciate this video, however, even though it is pointed at the US forces, this song can and does apply to other forces in the world defending their right to freedom. And thank you for honoring them with this video.
nooyawkfun 1 year ago
@nooyawkfun Amen. I support my troops because there's two kinds of war in the world today: Man to man, gun to gun, hand to hand, fought with some honor and integrity by men and women who understand the sacrifices and the danger in the world. Then there's mouth to mouth, hand to hand, knife to back... politics are the worst thing to happen to the world... but no one understands that both kill equally, and that really a single word in politics can have many more civilian casualties than a bullet.

Beautiful! Yet sad 38 people have actually voted this "thumbs down". I shall assume the 38 are not Americans or members of our allies.
Of course, they have the freedom to vote "dislike"; it's one of the freedoms, these HEROES serve for... their freedom to vote "thumbs down".
Enjoy it.

In the end No one wins & loved ones lose.

ulzii99...I've "been there, done that" and I can tell you without a doubt that is called exhaustion, NOT resting!
10yearvet 1 year ago
I don't mean to be rude, it's a beautiful song but @ 1:28 when the song goes "who never rest" the two soldiers were sleeping lol.
ulzii99 1 year ago
@ulzii99 You aren't the first who has pointed this out to me. I placed that picture there for a reason. The soliders in the picture may be resting, yes, but the point I was trying to make is that they aren't sleeping in a nice comfy bed taking a break from their duties. They are still out there, in the middle of a desert, getting what little rest they can where ever they can.

@ulzii99 I don't know if you have notice it but there is a 3rd soldier standing guard, so whenever you R sleeping or resting, someone else will be watching your back. May be you'll never get it but that is how it works.
chorro86 1 year ago
@ulzii99 While u get to go home from work and take a nice warm bath and sleep in a bed....on somewhat of a daily schedule....in other words at ur own leisure...soldiers in combat do not have that privilege...and yes while theyre resting in the pic they probably were awake for more consecutive hours than you'll ever fathom...nor are they sleeping soundly i can tell u that & their nap will likely last 15-20 minutes at best. Have you ever slept in a war zone? Try not to miss the point next time ;-)
MamiRox 1 year ago 2
@ulzii99 Speaking from experience in SE Asia in '68-'69, they aren't really sleeping because you're too afraid to sleep. Yes, they are resting before they fall over from exhaustion, but it's not real rest. My heart and my appreciation goes out to all our troops in the 'big sandbox'.
Jammer76010 1 year ago
@ulzii99 You might also notice "WHERE" they were sleeping.
dangbert11 1 year ago
@ulzii99 Having just returned from Afghanistan, I can tell you from 1st hand experience that they are not sleeping. It can be called, at best, a "fitful catnap". You never quite get to sleep. Between the heat, sand and anxiety, would you?
To LuckyLucie...many thanks for the touching video.
wolfgod11 1 year ago
@ulzii99 you speak of those soldiers sleeping. As a soldier I must tell you that they are not resting. They will never rest til the battle is over. The eyes can only keep focus after so many hours. so they are sleeping, but resting is hard onthe battle field.
TheTrina2000 1 year ago
@ulzii99 They may have been asleep, but a soldier never rests. you may have noticed that they were not at home in bed or on the couch watching TV.

Can you believe that 32 people do not like this video "Here's to the Heroes"? They must not be Americans but enemies of our country that don't like facing our heroes. Sincere thanks to each man and woman, veteran, active duty and retired and your families---you have paid for our freedom with your blood and sacrifice.
vrosan1 1 year ago 3
@vrosan1 Yes I can believe it, why? Because it is the heroes in this video that gave those 32 people the freedom of speech. But they are 32 people that have never faced death and honestly don't know the price of freedom. What can you do about it? Probably nothing, but to pick up my weapon and stand another post in the name of freedom.
