Basically same story for me, except I was so bad that doctors thought I was type 1, stopped insulin four months ago and control completely with diet and exercise. Blood sugar normally 80 to 105.
The best indicator of where you stand with Diabetes II is a Hemoglobin A1C test. It shows the average amount of sugar in your blood over the last 2 to 3 months.A few months ago, mine was 'pre-diabetic'. I changed my diet to more fiber, fresh fruits and vegetables, NO RED MEAT, and 1/4 spoon of ground Cinnamon daily. My A1C test came back as 5.1 - which is completely NORMAL. No diabetes 2.
Just to show you don't need expensive medication or fancy sounding, expensive supplements...:)
They testing my insulin sensitivity by giving me a glucose drink and took my blood sugar hours later, and my insulin sensitivity was that of a normal person as was my liver function, hence i dont have diabetes 2 anymore.
I would like to encourage you to cary on empowering yourself and others. I would say everyone needs to take responsibility for their body and this means reading about their condition and not just doing everything your physician tells you. Insulin resistance can be altered with a dramatically reducing low carb diet, exercise, right fats (omega 3), reducing the wrong fats (saturated/omega 6). Raising magnesium, potassium foods. Following Dr. Richard Bernsteins diabetic solution (book)
I hear the same thing over and over again about diabetes drugs: bad side effects. Kudos to this guy who wouldn't believe the doctors, got busy taking care of himself and found a way to reverse diabetes naturally!

i reversed my diabetes, when i lost my weight from 275 pounds to 210 pounds.
use cassia cinnamon and fish oil, cinnamon has an insulin mimetic within it, and fish oil increases insulin sensitivity.
1: take out all forms of cooking oil from food, eat only steamed or roasted.
2: salads, fish, or meat, and patatoes, no rice, fruit juice.
3: no sugar, not even artificial.
4: omega 3 oil
5: cassia ground cinnamon.
6: 1 hour walk each day.
it will cure you !

@IMnotSAS Do NOT use cassia cinnamon, it contains high levels of coumarin! Use ceylonese cinnamon instead.

@TheJrandre2
What does coumarin do?
i believe clinical trials use cassia. And cassia is also used in foods. I know useing more than a teaspoon a day of ground cinnamon is not good.
