And Hava Nagila (the old Hebrew folk tune.) Come to think of it, there are quite a few tunes that I reckon would be brought to life with some careful syncopation.
I would be willing to learn this but I need to be able to download a midi version of this song x.x. I can't play by sheet music so I memorize the song by watching it slowly and learning part by part x3
Nice one, I love this tune and I once actually wondered how it would sound like in ragtime, it looks like you had this idea too, great :)
Any chance to get a midi file of this? I might want to use it as a ringtone. I understand if you say no, I can rip the audio from Youtube as a last resource.
@Twan573 I don't (other than a very basic thing I did for my "What is ragtime?" demonstration video), but I can suggest a few tunes to search for off the top of my head: Desecration Rag, A Musical Massacre, Chopinata, and Chopin's Knocked Urn. I did a video featuring a 1912 recording which I called "Alexander's Ragtime Valkyrie" which is a mashup of Alexander's Ragtime Band and Die Walküre. Oh, and of course, Hungarian Rag and Operatic Rag by Julius Lenzberg.
@Twan573 Oh, a few others I forgot. Look for the Donald Lambert version of La Cinquantaine a.k.a. Golden Wedding (I have a video of Will Perkins playing it), and a foxtrot version of Song of India (I have a video of the Raspberry Jam Band playing it), and a stride rendition of Anitra's Dance (I've seen a video of Stephanie Trick playing it). And of course, Russian Rag! I have a video of that one called "Epic piano duet" which is a must-listen! There's a "New Russian Rag" too but it's rare.
@ThaRemco I would think he'd know at least the chorus off the top of his head. I do have a video of a fun performance by a couple other ragtimers. See video ID ziY0AsrGSiI or just search "tea for two sutter creek" (without quotes).
Its a nice arrangement and makes for a really nice song, but I do think you kinda strayed a little from the key melody in places that makes it the Hungarian Dance. Other than that, its really good :)
Good job! Well done, well played!

I think Greensleeves could also sound great in ragtime.

Good stuff! I just printed it off and it's a quite fun arrangement to play. Do you have any other similar rag arrangements of classical pieces?
