Oh, and out of curiosity, were you banking on getting a grenade? I noticed that you (impressively) took out a gun turret with it. Just wondering if that was planned, or improvised.

@azezaz123 It was a "if I get a grenade then I will use it here" strat, which you do get one maybe 2/3 runs. So it was a "planned improvisation" if you will, lol.

What's with the repeat pausing you do on top of the mainframe as the guards are approaching (just before you get into the sliding glass door)?

Is that a necessary part of the success of the procedure?

on 00 agent whenever i get to that "glass room" i try to do what you did and it didnt work. even when i left 2 guards alive in the 2nd room. Do you have any hints/tips?

@pwrsupreme Yeah to get better odds you will want to lure more guards to the glass. You don't have to do it just like this. A good is to clear out the glass room, and kill the guard behind the mainframe and the first guard in the next hallway (kill them with single headshots preferably). Then look straight down that hallway and fire 6-9 bullets to alert both guards you see and both guards in the exhaust bay. Then run back and do like I do.

@pwrsupreme Other than that make sure you're standing at the glass long enough and do not budge at all when you're at the glass. Lastly in general it is more difficult on 00A because you are killing every guard in the first 3 rooms. On Agent for example if you're speedrunning you can skip most of the guards in the first 2 rooms and then since there are more guards alive and tracking you when you do the glass part, there is more lag and more lag gives better opening odds.

Hi Eddie! Congratulations! Beating this level on Agent is a pain in the ass, and I'm unsucessfuly trying to beat it on Secret Agent. Tell me, does that glass door trick work on every difficulty?

@goldeneyedossier Yeah it does, the only factor that might be making it tougher on you is if you're killing more guards on 00. More guards dead = less lag; the more lag you have the better the chances are it gets opened. You don't have to do it exactly how I do it. You can get it pretty consistently instead by killing the guard after the MF, killing the first hallway guard, then firing down the hallway to lure all 4 guards. More guards running to the glass = better odds.

MustangGT33 you are my hero. And just out of curiosity, how did you choose to record this since you probably did hundreds of tries? Did you run you composite cables into your computer and just let it record for awhile until you got it right?

Thanks man. No I record on blank VHS tapes, then when I get a successful run I record it on my computer through my capture card from my VCR.

I've tried playing straight into my computer before, but there was a 2 second input delay, not to mention that would fill up the space on my hard drive pretty quick.

For simplicity's sake, just lure more guards than I do (get those other 2 down the hallwy too) and try to stand at the glass, without moving, as long as you can before they get to the mainframe door. If you make a vid I'll tell you what you're doing wrong.

when i played this i'd take my time and snipe everyone thats how i beat the game. the second time i finished it i was running in rooms killing men like keanu in the matrix i can't say i beat the game knowing secrets for record times like this but did beat my old times and have some experiences on 00 agent at the bunker and i was shooting the last camera with 10 soldiers shooting at me and all i remember was aiming side to side for head shots killing them all i got all the cheats both times

How often does the glass trick work?

I can get it open maybe 1/3 of the time, but I've had tons of practice with it and know the timing well. When you're first trying it out, it's MUCH more rare. Oh and I got the 2 grenades, one from the 3rd guard in the beginning room and another from one of the 2 guards that run in front of me at the end of the corridor after the first room.

far harder? We seem to have conflicting logic here. You avoid Jaws the way this video shows. Jaws is a boss-like enemy with loads of life, yet this in this video is harder? Rare never intended you to use the yellow soldiers to open the door, and it is more or less cheating, doing this method. Regarding the big room, that's also chance that he makes it - running out in 4 drone guns and with those pricks with lasers. That's chance he makes it okay, and life that would otherwise be used on Jaws.

You're making Jaws out to be harder than he is. Can be killed with 25 headshots, you just get up close to him so he shoots past you anyways. Thus MOST of the time, you don't lose ANY health on him.

Calling this "cheating" is a little dumb, it's just taking advantage of a glitch, and all games have glitches, agree?

There's only so many characters Youtube allows per reply, so I didn't get to mention that you are defenseless while climbing the ladder both times to open and close the hanger and the infinite guards with lasers that hunt you down, after killing Jaws. It gives you more to do, more to worry about, and makes this level harder. durkmeister is in a minority % of people who think that the way in this video is harder. The Jaws way, the way Rare intended, makes you do more and is harder.

Then you just don't have a very good strategy. If you're fast enough after killing Jaws you only have to deal with the dbl-laser guards once.

Btw, both durk and I are members of the-elite, the top GE players in the world, so...you trying to cut down our knowledge of the game is flat out laughable.

I don't have much time to play lately, but I'm going to take an hour (could take just a few tries lol) and beat it that way just to get a vid up here to show how easy it is and end this argument.

Your play is above average... it's being super rich/wealthy; you cannot relate at all to the poor people. So, not by your or durkmeister's standards, but by the VAST majority of REGULAR gamers, this level beaten the Jaws way, and on 00 Agent, is the number one hardest level in Goldeneye 007.

LOL I completely agree Aztec 00 is the hardest level in the game. Did I ever say otherwise? All I said was that it's not THAT hard. When you get to the top 10 of the GE world rankings then every level is easy to you...but I never disagreed that this is the hardest level in the game, just said it's still easy to beat lol. RE: That's because having the guards open the glass door is 100% by-chance, meaning that there's not too much strategy.

RE: Then you know nothing about how the strat works, because it's based on where you stand and your timing in each spot, thus there is little "luck" involved. That's why people on here complain about never being able to get it to work, whereas I can get them to open it probably 33% of the time.

Keep acting like you know more about our strats than me, it does make me laugh, I guess you just ran out of things to say since I so easily completed the Jaws strat that was supposed to be so hard.

I mean, this level on 00 Agent, beaten the way Rare has intended (confronting Jaws), is so, so incredibly hard. If you post a video of it, it would *really* show how good you are. Seriously.

My best time with killing Jaws is 3:04 (pretty sure the WR is 2:33), but that was way back in 2001 when I first joined the rankings and didn't record my stuff, and then the glass door trick was discovered in 2002 so need to go after Jaws after that...but sure maybe I'll give it a go sometime just to have a vid up of that too :)
