  • Eventually a book will be written about this man !

Called The Loyality Magic Treason Bullshit Theory !

    Spector wont be happy !

  • Arlen Specter, faux defector, erector of THE Lie. How insane ya Pennslyvania to give him one more try. Back Joe Sestak 4 Senator.

Specter, author of the perverse "Magic Bullet" fabrication in the JFK assassination, committed treason as an accessory after the fact in covering up the murderous coup of Nov. 1963. He is undeserving of a single vote.

I may not agree with every vote Sestak has cast, but of the two, he is a veritable Pericles compared to Specter. Vote Sestak for Senator.

  • @WALRU11

Don't back Joe Sestak. I beg you, he's just another big spending bureaucratic tax raiser just like Specter.

  • NYJ: You may be right, but I would gladly support an entire Congress of tax raisers before I would cast a single vote for so sleazy a reprobate as Arlen Specter, a willing, conscious co-conspirator in covering up the truth behind the murderous coup d'etat that occurred on Nov. 22, 1963 in Dallas, TX. Specter should be impeached & imprisoned as an accessory after the fact in this homicide & for obstruction of justice in perpetrating a gross fiction. He is a traitor to our democratic system.

  • @WALRU11

I want either very very low taxes or a progressive fair tax and get rid of the Federal Income Tax!

Arlen Specter happens to accept over $500K from the American Israeli Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).

He's a full blown Jewish extremist.

  • NYJ: I can't say what his relationship is with Israel. I know what it has been with America: treason. His entire political career is founded on a monstrous lie - one that concealed the fact that America's constitutionally-elected leader was assassinated in a violent coup d'etat that ushered in wars, more assassination, abuses of executive power, economic

ruin, illegal covert operations, govt invasion of privacy & unprecedented repression, malfeasance, corruption, & scandal paid by our taxes.

  • @WALRU11

Oh ok, me personally I happen to have a problem with his relationship with Israel.

Besides that he's probably one of the worst senators this country has ever had. And Pennsylvanians are letting this old bum stay in office.

Neither Pat Toomey or Joe Sestak will be any better. Either I look at who else is running for the US senate in PA and see who will really make change or hold my vote and not vote for either Sestak or Toomey.

  • NYJ: We are in woeful agreement: Specter sucks as a Senator. How Pennsylvanians - heirs of America's locus of liberation litany - could elect this paragon of prevarication and repression, I will never understand. He is a cunning, devious, unprincipled, dessicated used condom of a politician who deserves only to see the world through the window of a prison cell. But do vote if only to cast a ballot against this disgrace to democracy.

  • now the Dems have Frank AND Specter. What a pair.

  • ....Good Riddance... This S.O.B has never been a conservative,

Specter started out as a democrat in the 60's switched to the repubs in 65 NOW he's swtiching back?..

...political survivalist.. for a paycheck .

    FUCK SPECTER

  • If ANY Democrat switched to the Republican party, you bullshitters would be decrying the end of the Democratic party and you know it. Keep spinning.

  • It's amazing how the liberals are jumping through the ceiling about gaining Specter when they know he's not going to be on their side, TOTALLY. It's a benefit for the Republicans and Conservatives because Specter was nothing more than a "bump on the log". He didn't represent Republicans anyway! And he's not going to do any different for liberals either. That's what a moderate is!!! Good luck liberals!

  • I said this when he was a republican and I say it now he had a chance to do the nation a great deed when he was a member of the Warren Commission and instead of doing his diligence he presented us with the Single Bullet Theory. He can do whatever he wants, its his payment for his loyalty to the dark side. I ignore him so should his constituencies, but they will not because The hypnotized never lie Do Ya!

  • good riddance

  • Senator Arlen "the spectator" Specter has never created or contributed anything to the U.S. Senate in his entire career. The Republicans could never count on his support and neither will the democrats. His desperate attempt to hold on to this office by switching parties is proof that he is there for his own personal gain, not for the people he represents!

This is another perfect example of why we need eight year term limits on all members of the Senate & Congress.

  • You're spouting off talking points. Specter wholeheartedly supported most of Bush's disastrous policies, including The Patriot Act, The Iraq War and ALL 700 BILLION PISSED AWAY DOLLARS, The Military Commissions Act and much, much more, so the Republicans are just LYING through their teeth (again) when they claim that he was never a loyal Republican. The Republicans rely on lazy, obedient people like you to win elections because they know you'll never take the time to research anything. TOOL.

  • Now I repeat: McCain's campaign manager said Obama and McCain were "statistically tied" before Obama mopped up the floor with McCain on election night. You failed to address that lie because you can't.

  • Career politician Specter needs to be laid off. He is a clown.

  • Republicans are running around spouting off this horseshit about Specter having "the most liberal voting record" in the Senate. They said the same shit about John Kerry, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. They always make up lies like that when they get embarrassed. They also said Obama and McCain were "statistically tied" before Obama mopped up the floor with McCain on election night. They lie because they know some people are too fucking dumb to know any better. They have ZERO credibility.

  • God are you stupid. 52% is NOT "moping up the floor". Spector was a Democrat in his first run so why should his liberal record surprise anyone

  • Yeah that 52% talking point is what you wingnuts have been parroting since you got your asses handed to you on election night. Electoral votes win elections, moron, and it was an electoral thrashing. The end. Try thinking for yourself instead of regurgitating Karl Rove's bullshit, you buffoon.

  • Wow...aside from being nasty, you are also uninformed...a real ASSet to your ilk

  • Nasty like you, right? Quote: God are you stupid.

Dumb hypocrite. Come back when you get out of rehab and can actually put forth a coherent point.

  • 2010 GOP strategy in a nutshell: Pandering to hate-filled white men (LOSE MORE SEATS) and use outdated fear mongering (LOSE MORE SEATS) tactics to push the party into further irrelevance. In other words: LOSE MORE SEATS. Stay angry, you pathetic idiots.

  • He's a senile, souless careerist drone so he belongs with the democratic party.

    Term limits are well over-due.

  • "Specter will "pretty much" tow the line with the Dems because Obama has agreed to campaign for him"

You mean the fake messiah in the White House has agreed to back him up? Will George Soros bankroll Specter too? How about an appearance with Michael Moore? Wouldn't that be cool stuff?

  • Maybe Cheney and the GOP could have him tortured for what he's done. Wouldn't that be cool? Ignorant fucking wingnut. LOL

  • You don't know shit about politics, you fucking moron. Go away.

  • Look for a couple of other Republicans to switch sides before next years election.

  • I'd much rather listen to Rush, Hannity, and Beck, who all flunked out of college as freshman, than to listen to intelligent people.

  • So what's your solution, gismotech? What would you do to fix the country if you had a chance?

  • I sure would not waste another 20 trillion like obuma wants to do.

you can not spend your way out of debt

  • Stimulus money is used to 'STIMULATE' growth. The United States at its best, — GDP: 13.84 Trillion... that is amazing compared to most countries. Stimulate growth, get out of debt, money has to be spent, economics 101.

  • still waiting?

gismotech wo't respond, he's another racist ditto head.

They don't have a solution, they don't have any ideas, they think the'll have a chance to get back to power just saying NO to everithing. If that happens, they'll screw things up again!

  • Quote: They don't have a solution, they don't have any ideas, they think the'll have a chance to get back to power just saying NO to everithing.

Indeed. He's just another babbling clown spewing spoon fed talking points.

  • I am a Dem, have had respect for Specter for years. He speaks with integrity even when I disagree with him. He is not an automatic vote for Dems or GOPs. America is well served by him, regardless of what party he affiliates with.

  • Quote: He is not an automatic vote for Dems or GOPs

True, but I can guarantee you that he will pretty much tow the party line for the next 17 months if he expects the Dems to help him win the election. If he cooperates he'll be fine, but if he screws Obama and the Democrats like he just screwed the Republicans, he's done, despite all his rhetoric about independence.

  • win re-election? he has no chance at all.

only a fool would think he has a chance

  • Here's the thing about the Democratic party line. Like you, we have our extremists. However, unlike you, we have not cleansed our ranks of all "unbelievers". We have moderates, and even conservative Dems, "Blue Dogs". I'm sure the Democratic leadership knows very well the things they can count on Specter for and also the areas where they differ.

  • Specter voted for the most irresponsible series of massive deficit spending including the insane $789 Billion 'stimulus' earmark. Running up the annual deficit to 4x what it was last year to bailout failures like GM, AIG, Chrysler, etc. is so irresponsible and the Republican voters here in PA just couldn't stand it anymore. We don't appreciate the mountain of debt Obama, Specter, and Casey Jr. gave us. If the economy is the same or worse in November 2010, I think Specter will be gone.

  • Quote: Here's the thing about the Democratic party line. Like you, we have our extremists. However, unlike you, we have not cleansed our ranks of all "unbelievers"

Huh? Like me? I think you've confused me for a Republican buddy. LOL

  • no you just force out Liberman over ONE issue Iraq. so much for your big tent.

  • OK, backtrack:

Quote: Like he just screwed the Republicans.

For you to say that either means you haven't been paying attention or you are a Republican. Specter did not screw the Republicans. They are running a guy against him in his own primary. For him to switch parties is not exatly screwing them.

Besides you think the Dems are going to cut his nuts off the first time he votes against them. Neither of those things are true, regardless of the party you belong to buddy ol pal.

  • Quote: For you to say that either means you haven't been paying attention or you are a Republican.

No it doesn't. What the hell are you babbling about? He screwed the Republicans by giving them even less leverage against the Dems in the Senate, you dolt. That was my point. And Specter will "pretty much" tow the line with the Dems because Obama has agreed to campaign for him. You think they're all doing this shit out of the kindness of their hearts? You don't know jack about beltway politics.

  • The GOP was allready trying to get rid of Specter. They screwed themselves. Based on your comments, you have no clue who Arlen Specter is. He allready sides with the Dems on many issues. It's not a big stretch for him to vote as a Dem. Try to add some gas to your hot air.

  • You would be saying that same stupid shit if Snowe or Collins defected. Try researching his voting record during the Bush years instead of spouting off shit that you hear on television, you fucking idiot. I'm done with you.

  • Specter was a Dem til 1965 when he wanted to run

  • aliens run both parties, right kozelll333? from the planet zimton. show me a fucking perfect world, & I'll be there tomorrow

  • elite runs both parties, wake up..

  • Its The Magic Bullshit Theory.

  • I guess it's safe to say that the only requirement for winning approval from an opposing party is to switch sides.

Specter hasn't even voted on anything as a Democrat, yet the douchebags on this thread are already praising him.

This country is so fucked up.

  • FYI to all you libs, this guy won't be changing any of his views. He has always been a moderate and he won't win reelection in 2010.

Pardon the interruption. You may continue saving the world over YouTube now.

  • Someone is bitter because they can't filibuster for the next 2 years.

  • No, just confident that even some Democrats won't go along with Savior Obama

  • Of course he will win re-election in 2010, the dems probably won't even challenge him in the primary and he's hugely popular in a blue state. Easily re-elected.

  • Except for the fact that he isn't liberal enough for them. Trust me, no matter what party he stays with, his political career is wrapping up.

  • @TheRamenAvenger he lost in the primarys never trust a turncoat

  • @Pezster13 I was wrong about Boston ever winning the championship too, what are you gonna do

  • RIP GOP

  • I think he should get a sex change while he's at it!

  • Takes the easy way out and betrays those who trust him....yeah he is a democrat!

  • Yeah, let me see, you trust me, and try to sink the boat with both of us there, will I fucking stay there? Trust me, but don't think I trust you.

  • ... so you think that way of Liebermann also when he supported McCain.

  • Lets see dumbass you guys FORCED Liebermann out of the Democrat Party

over one issue. So asshole he is an independant and was free to support who evey he wanted.

    hassle asshole

  • These are the neocons that ron paul said we need to get out of the GOP. There fake republicans will jump on any bandwagon so they can stay in power. Dem rats can have him. see ya punk. GOP is just unloading the dead weight.

  • Only 21% of the voters in this country consider themselves republicans. So you maybe should tie these loose cannons up.

  • I don't buy this crap. The GOP is so dead , that this old white racists big corporation ass kissers have to pretend they're Democrats to get elected. This will be another Liberman! Mark my words!

  • Snowe should jump aboard too. She's a social progressive!

  • Look for a couple of GOP Congressman to also switch to the Democratic party in the near future.

This GOP Party of the top 5% of the people & gay-hating & war-profiting is over.

It's time to look for a party to replace them -- The Libertarian, The Constitution Party, or a brand new party.

But so far as the GOP - stick a fork in it -- it's DONE!

  • Whooohooo! Fuck bipartisanship, I want Obama to run a dictatorship for the next 2 years. The GOP can hold all the tea parties they want but we don't need their approval or opinion anymore. We are now gonna run things our way.

  • I love your attitude...wooohooo!!! lol

  • Its actually one of Barack Obama's favorite songs. Its true. He said that in an interview with MSNBC few months before the election.

  • fuck this traitor

  • Wow, an OLD GOPer changing sides. The Republicans are pretty well fucked.

  • Oh no! Not a Moderate!

The GOP will soon be nothing by the farthest right wingers. And they wonder why they are losing elections by landslide amounts....

    lol

  • SCREW THE GOP!!!! PARTY OF SOUTHERN WHITE MALES ONLY! Should be called teh SWMO!!

  • may this be the first of many

  • HOOOORAY!!!

welcome to the good side brotha

  • This is just another example of how far out of touch the GOP has gotten. People in my age group (under 35) are very turned off by the GOP's obsession with gay (what do you want, for gay people to live a life of loneliness?) marriage, a lack of concern for the environment, and doing nothing about Wall Street greed. The GOP needs new recruits, not more old blowhards like Limbaugh, Hannity, Cheney, and he-she freakshows like Laura Ingraham and Ann Coulter.

  • In Senator Franken's seminal and highly scholarly work titled:

"Rush Limbaugh is a Big Fat Idiot!",

he alluded to the likelihood of Senator Spector switching parties if the Republicans (led by Rush Limbaugh -- the Big Fat Idiot!) remained hell-bent on taking their party further toward the right.

Franken's point was to win elections one must always keep one eye toward the middle and avoid becoming myopic.

  • This takes guts!

  • I'm a Repubilcrat

    of the rat race republic.

  • Congratz, Spector, I hope you can make your constituents proud.

  • Ed Schultz had the best line, we welcome his change, but Arlen Specter isn't going to win a "Profiles in Courage" award

  • Commenting in this discussion is almost as useless as switching parties for political protection...

  • If switching parties for political protection actually makes you get re-elected whereas you would not have been able to in your former party... isn't switching parties for political protection EXTREMELY USEFUL AND WELL ADVISED?

  • LOL hes hopping off the FAIL boat

    Smart man

  • Specter was ORIGINALLY a Democrat.

He only became a Republican so he could run for DA in 1965.

Hear Specter explain his first party switch at

    /watch?v=JUB_hQmnkqc

Could it be? Specter is an opportunist?

  • I'm sure he is, as ALL politicians are. =P

  • Probably, but it's still a welcome development.

  • at least he knows how to spell job

  • @ Flynn

Oh yes...cuz Bush and the Republicans did an amaaaaaaaaazing job with the country and the economy when they were in power. Note the sarcasm. You're an idiot.

  • Um actually...it's "you're"...but seeing as you're a fan of Bush, I'm not suprised that you suck at grammar.

And you're telling me that Bush's record has the lowest unemployment in history? Did you forget what happened Sept 15th 2008? After 8 years of Bush and his ways...that's what happened. If God himself told you Bush was a retard...you would STILL disagree. That's because you're an idiot.

  • But that was off of Clinton...and the dems

  • unemployment spiked during bushs presidency. I know its hard for you to believe but Obama has only been in office 100 days. Unemployment has been going up for a while now

  • What? Unemployment is at it's highest in 16 years!! What happened 16 years ago? Oh, yeah, the OTHER Bush had just left office!!

Sooo, logically, in a graph, unemployment would be dropping during Clinton's term, and then rising again during Bush's.

  • What about the great job bush did to ruin the country?

FYI that day is already here.

Your talking about some hypothetical day that may never come.

Suppose Obama and the democrats actually know what they are doing, and actually know about policies that will help the country. Suppose the Obama plan actually works.

Have you ever considered that maybe just maybe they know more about running the country than we do.

And the republicans are just opposing on a party basis without doing research?

  • What a laugh Suppose his spending his way out of debt yea that will work.

triple the spending that will work.

Oh thats right spending your way out of debt has never work before, but its going to work this time since its Obama

Maybe you should do some research.

  • Oh and lets hear your grand proposal mr Economist, please do tell. Because you obviously kno w more than the team of economists Obama has as his advisors, and you also know more than history.

    FACT deficit Spending WORKS.

Building Infrastructure Which the stimulus does WORKS.

  • thats a laugh since only 25% of that stimulus had anything to do with Infrastructure you fool. and the rest was deficit spending on crap.

Fact you have no proof deficit spending works

    freaking dumbass

  • crap like what? And we still havent heard your economic plan mr Economist

  • lets see FDR, Hoover both tried to spend thier way out and failed Japan tried not only once but 3 times in 10 years and failed.

your an idiot deficit spending never works

maybe you and obumer should try living in the real world

  • Well, that's the kind of joke to be expected from conservatives. Party of don't know... Tsk, tsk.

Right. Do Democrats go around saying that the Earth is 6000 years old? That there is no greenhouse effect (CO2 is "harmless" because you can breath it)? That gay marriage is going to destroy our country? That zygotes have souls?

I think the GOP can be both the party of NO and DON'T KNOW. Sadly, the character count is too small to talk about the Iraq War...

  • go suck al gore dick dumbass and we can sure tell you have no soul keep right on killing those babies

just admit you would like to cull everyone and just keep the people you consider elite enough. You'll feel much better after all there are way too many people.

  • I admit it, I'm evil and I'd like nothing more to personally kill all those babies. How could you tell?

Seriously now, I sympathize with your outrage. Abortion is just that kind of issue.

But if the belief that human life begins at conception is something that cannot even be discussed, conversation is simply impossible.

  • Too many swines in the Republican Party (Limbaugh, Rove, Steel, Beck, Hannity, O'Reilly, Bachman, Coulter, ....) all with Swine flu ... This was the only chance for Arlen Secter to get the disease .....

  • Collins and Snowe should follow suit.

  • Sweet!!... Where's Al? #60. Yes!!!

  • It's about time! Finally a Republican who would rather do something instead of continuing to whine and bitch and complain... I wonder how long it will take for McCain and Palin to come to their senses? Since Palin is busy dealing with yet another Ethics issue I guess we won't be seeing her any time soon... Thank God.

  • About time. This is what McCain should have done after losing to Bush in 2000.

  • Hot dayyum. Is this real?

Democrats have a filibuster proof majority. Health care is on the way. Gun control for automatic weapons is on the way. Judicial nominees passing through the Senate is on the WAY.

I guess the Republicans can begin to compromise soon. 21% identify themselves as Republicans. Do they need equal time if their numbers are so low?

  • your an idiot 21% nothing like pulling shit out of thin air

  • You sir/madam don't watch, read, or listen to the news, do you? Get some facts. Absorb them. Then, comment.

Or just name call if the facts don't support your POV especially when your party identification continues to get lower the louder the right wing gets.

  • you wish dumbass I know far more than you do and spector is done, toast he will lose his seat for sure.

  • Rats jumping off the Party Of No ship!

  • You reduce Arlen Spector to the simple noun "windbag."

And you want anyone to take you seriously. He stood against Bush on torture, illegal wire-tapping, and EVERY BUSH/CHENEY ASSAULT ON THE CONSTITUTION.

I guess Thomas Jefferson, John Adams, and Ben Franklin were WINDBAGS too!

  • That's the spirit!

Pretty soon there's going to be probably 10 non "windbags" in the country.

But never compromise. Being a conservative means never have to say "We're really fucked now..."

  • Specter knows a sinking ship when he sees one.

  • i agree .. the change will not change his voting patterns for the most part, but the "republican" affiliation is definitely not a good one right now ... no one wants the "R" trailing their name at the moment based upon polling ... and bad ideas ...

  • Best response ever to the reporter's "tell me why you wont' tell me" question. It's handy to have a claque that picks up on cues.

  • Sen. Specter (R) changes party (D): 60 seats - Rush Limbaugh: "Obama spreads deadly disease"

    /watch?v=8VKlSfCq21Y

  • GOP = Titanic .... the mice are running away .... and the 3 pigs (Limbaugh, Rove and Beck) will drawn.

  • Thumbs up, but what about O'Reilly? How can you forget him after all he's done...
