no those are air scoops. they do not bolt directly to the intake manifold they are there simply to let cold air into the engine bay. all the mr-2s are single intake manifold.

The intakes you see aren't really that useful without the Tom's airbox, they actually hinder air flow throught the engine bay, but we won't go there. The intakes you see are aftermarket, made by Tom's.

Their claim about airflow in mr2's engine bay is true as for many mid engined cars! but at elevated velocity the air pressure at the inlet of the scoop is so ferocius that the air rushed down reaches the intake. anyway its the same air as at the side of the car 1bar pressure and same temp and so theres no difference in power! the inercooler isn't even reached by that air flow if its the factory unit!

The scoops are actually pretty useless from an airflow standpoint. Moreso on the intercooler side (since none of the airflow will actually make it to the intercooler). I do have one on my 400hp MR2 though, but it was there when I bought it.

The scoops are aftermarket; you can get them from Toms, Erebuni, or a handfull of others.  Just for looks? Dude, those air scoops bring MUCH needed air to the Engine bay. Some are a good deal flatter than others, but they all are functional. If you wanna nag someone, nag the gay-ass Mustang for having those stupid ass side openings; now THEY are for looks; they are covered w/ a piece of plastic.

nop because the way the mr2 is designed the air goes up instead of down through the engine bay, if you don't believe me, if you know someone that has an mr2, ask him to leave his engine lid open and drive it past 75mph, you'll notice the lid starts to float lol, besides mr2 engine is water cooled, so there is not real use fot this. unless you have the scoops directed to some sort of airbox/intercooler/oilcooler.
